Making the group booking with park staff, it was all about the money - must send $800 deposit first.

Checking in with the staff at the park, it was all about the money - must pay balance $3,940 first.

Awaiting payment the staff at the park will change access codes for all vehicles access to lock you out. - welcome to Stockton Tourist park where you pay $4,740 to be treated like a criminal.

Please let me first clarify for other potential guests that the quoted pricing was for a group of 8 villas for a weekend package, not for a single stay. As for the payment of these fees, it is standard practice in the holiday park industry that payment for any stay needs to be made at or prior to check in. Despite this being communicated clearly to the group organiser, our staff were flexible and allowed your group to check in without payment, upon a promise that the account would be settled by 9am the following morning. When payment had not been made by the following afternoon, as per standard policy the boomgate codes for the booking were disabled, so that you would need to visit the office prior to leaving the park. We offered flexible payment arrangement outside our normal operating procedures, in order to assist you in collecting the moneys from your group. When we had not received payment or any communication from you well after the agreed time, we took the only measure we had available to ensure we could discuss payment with you further. I am sorry if this inconvenienced you during your stay, but I do not believe it is unreasonable to want to receive payment for services delivered.

We enjoyed our stay at Stockton. It's not the ritziest park around and could do with a general spring clean and a make over with the camp kitchen. The position though is really good with a nice beach frontage which made for some good walks. There is a ferry to the city nearby which was handy. It is very near the shipping channel and it is great to watch the vessels entering the harbour. All in all an enjoyable stay and would certainly return.

After booking 5 cabins at $200 a night, you still have to make the beds as soon as you arrive as the sheets are sat on the end of the bed, more then 2 people a cabin is $15 extra! one car per cabin (2 or 3 bedroom) even tho there is plenty of room the extra car must park in the visitors car park (very dark). The couple running the park are very arrogant and rude and don't want to be there, should not be working with the public, would not recommend.

I would firstly like to apologise for any misunderstanding that has occurred with the Park Managers of Stockton Beach Holiday Park. As you are aware the Stockton Beach Holiday Park is a popular holiday destination, as such, policies and procedures are in place to ensure consistency. Please be aware the managers will always do their best to accommodate all guests.

The car parking, additional persons and main bed only made are standard policies that we have in place across our 26 holiday parks and resorts across Australia. While you may feel our policies are unfair, they are fairly commonplace among other accommodation providers across Australia.

We endeavour to make our policies clear to all guests when booking and prior to arrival, I apologise if our policies were not clearly outlined to you at the time of booking.

I would like to thank you for your comments, without this feedback, we would not be able to improve the service we offer our customers. We do hope that you will continue to holiday at Stockton Beach Holiday Park in the future.

The holiday park is spotless: totaly clean, very roomy sites and located directly at the beach. The place itself would earn 5 pionts but because the staff was so rude. Especially the man at the reception which made fun of us. He tried to be nasty and wanted to put us on a site whit a hole in which we would have been stuck. He was like "Do you know why I am laughing? It's because I am looking at the site on which I will put you. There is hole which you cannot avoid and in which you will be stuck with your campervan." Lucky us the site was not available but he was disappointed: "The site is not available. How that? So i unfortunately can't be nasty with you!" But at the same time he didn't response my question why he seeks to be nasty with us. I recommend this place for it's location and facility but not for the customer friendliness.

We stayed two nights in the brand new cabins at Stockton Beach Caravan Park. The fitout and furniture was of the highest standard I have ever seen in a caravan park with modern colours and a great location just metres from the beach. It is not the cheapest cabins at $270 per night but good value for four persons as we were. The local cafe next to the caravan park makes excellent coffees and this provided a great access point to the Stockton Sand Dunes and Port Stephens. Stockton Beach itself seems like an old sleepy town with not much happening but we had fun Friday night at the Bowles club.
