We stayed there one night recently in a family room, well actually its two rooms together. Very clean and nice and bright. Beds comfy and bathroom imacculate. Dinner downstairs in the bistro was also nice and very reasonable. Would stay there again. Very friendly staff too.

Had to find accommodation in Newcastle ASAP and ended up here. Knew it was a pub and was expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised: the room was spacious and very clean, with a decent sized bathroom with a massage showerhead. Bed was extremely comfortable (most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in a hotel), and I could not hear any noise from the pub at all - partner and I got an excellent nights sleep. Parking was outside in a gated car park.

The only minor drawbacks are that the windows do not open, so you have to use the A/C and that it is a bit far from the city centre (about 7-10 minutes drive).

We needed a place to stay in Newcastle quick and a friend suggested and booked this hotel. Was not expecting much as it is located on top of a pub, to my surprise the place looks very good, modern, spacious and quiet. Parking is located at the back of the building, there is underground secured parking but very limited, the other option is the hotel's gated parking lot also situated at the back of the building.

You can use the lift to get to the hotel rooms on the 2nd floor or to the basement car park you need to swipe your room card. There is also a restaurant on the ground floor, which serves your normal pub menu and it is not that bad.

All in all, my stay was pleasant and relaxing. Definitely recommending to friends if they will be going to Newcastle.

What a great surprise finding this place was. Good clean rooms, free internet, undercover parking, no 'add ons' for using a credit card, great food from the restaurant, and no room service charges. It was just like stepping back in time, and as an added bonus it's in the middle of a small shopping centre. I needed to be close to John Hunter Hospital for this trip but will certainly go back when next in the Newcastle area.

Room Tip: Was a bit noisy with 'Bingo calling' from the hotel until about 7pm but after that I had the...

stayed at this hotel in November 2012 during a visit with family, hotel is modern and clean with all the amenities you require. Beds are very comfortable and pillows nice and fluffy. However water pressure is not very good, had to move around the shower somewhat to get wet. Check in is not 24 hour and we had to press a button and wait for someone to come from the pub to check us in. "Checkout was efficient. Blackbutt pub is attached to this hotel and the meals here were very good., There was noise from the pub when we went back to the room but it wasnt bad. overall a good place to stay

This is a budget hotel but it comes with really nice newly renovated modern rooms. I was particularly impressed by the high quality bed and bed sheets which gave me a great night sleep. Also, free Internet in rooms via a network cable plus free parking went down very well for me.

If you like a bit of gambling there's a big betting place here too!! Had fun there in the evenings!!!

I recommend this place
