A great path way through the clean air along an old train line. You travel past gorgeous bush area including a natural creek and duck pond seeing lots of flora and fauna. A great exercise path for runners and cyclists.

This track is totally seperate from the motor vehicles and allows you to ride, walk or run without the hassle of worrying about cars and trucks. There are a number of places where you can join the track .

In a word great.
It was a passenger and freight railway and shortened back to coal only.
Being a disused railway there are no steep grades.
We road from Adamstown to Belmont (Lunch at the pub) and rode back in the day easily, and we are 62 and 63.
Compared to the other rail trails we have ridden in Victoria and South Australia, this one is overdone with fencing, probably why it was so expensive in the first place.
And of course, one can always believe the politicians’, can’t we?
Of course, we can.
The passenger service was closed by the Liberals in the early 70’s
Labour’s platform under Neville Wran was :-
“the first priority if we win government is to re-open the Belmont line (circa 1974)
Still waiting Nev.
OK so you cannot trust a pollie. But do enjoy the ride

Shared bicycle and pedestrian track that follows the old railway line. It also utilises an old railway tunnel. Popular with cyclists, joggers, walkers
