“Lots of onion and burns to sons back caused by hot food dropped by waiter”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

We selected this restaurant on Friday night last for a family celebration and what a surprise we had
From the start we had five different wait staff ask if we would like to order drinks and then 4 wait staff try and take meal orders after we had actually ordered the meals.
The entree eventually arrived after about 30 minutes and was quite nice
The main meal was quite eventful with one of the hot dishes dropped down the back of our son burning him ( as well as wrecking the shirt and jumper)
Nothing was said even though he stood up and ripped his shirt off in the restaurant with the senior Supervisor looking the other way
The service was pathetic and the food very very bland and made up of large amounts of onions and fillers

“Exceptional Food & Service”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

I was part of a group of 10 people and was visiting Manyeea for the first time. We all agreed to the fixed menu and had no regrets about that. This was the best Thai food I've eaten in a long time. It was obvious that the dishes were cooked with care and precision, using spices to their absolute advantage. My favourite was the Massaman curry, extremely lean beef in an exquisite sauce. The restaurant is licensed but BYO is also permitted. The decor was almost as tasteful as the food, and this contributed to an excellent ambience. The wait staff worked well together, and appeared as one big happy family. Highly recommended.

“Disappointing evening meal”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

We were looking forward to some beautiful thai food after a friend recommended we go.
Unfortunately the meals were lacking that great thai flavour. The dishes were served promptly but were only luke warm, mine with a big garnish of what I hoped was coriander only to find the great ozzy all rounder parsley instead. Won't be returning any time soon.

“Great”
Reviewed December 25, 2012 via mobile

Always a great meal. All food is tasty and true Thai. The service is always friendly and competent. Special dietary requirements have been observed many times. A great little restaurant and a must if you're in Maitland.

“Shocking Service And Average Food”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

I have seen this restaurant around town for years, but never been. Then tonight it was my mum's birthday (happy birthday mum!) so all the family booked in and went along for a 6.30 booking. Initially booked for 9 people, we last minute found out it was only 6 of us. The door service was great, being opened as we entered, but that was about the best of it. We were ushered to our table and seated. Twenty minutes later we were still not asked if we would like any drinks. When finally asked if we had any more people to come, we told them it was just the six of us, and the waitress smiled and disappeared. A moment later, she returned with another waiter and told us to all move from our seats to the end of the table so they could separate the seats we weren't using. Now, one table seats 4, meaning to separate a table, we would need to be a group of 4. We were 6. So the waitress told two of our party to sit back while she pulled the table from them, then stood there for a few minutes, realising that it was pointless, and told us to put the tables back together....
And it goes on...

Then another waitress comes to us around 5 minutes later and asks, "So do you want drinks or anything?" with the most sour of faces. She was dressed in a shirt that was far too short for her, and if she had been a belly dancer, perhaps I would have understood. She was, however, not.
We ordered our drinks, entrées and mains and waited. I had a vodka with diet coke. The vodka was clearly the cheapest on the market and tasted like methylated spirits.
Our entrées arrived and were tasty. Finally something worth mentioning.
Two of the six mains arrived as well as a shared fried rice. The rice was lovely, and the two mains were okay. Unfortunately, those two mains had finished and the rice was cold by the time the next four mains arrived. There was no apology, no explanation, just was expected to be fine. When one party member asked for a glass of wine on the limited wine menu, he was told that there was none left. Even when we were one of the first diners in the restaurant. Bad.

We had bought a cake with us to cut, but decided to leave and have it as home rather than sit in this place any longer.

Customer service goes a long way to create repeat business. So too does hot dishes served promptly with the diners of that party. And a plate full of salad with a half a cup of luke warm meat does not equal a $20 dish.

Entrées were nice, but lack of wine, lack of considerate staff with etiquette training, lack of mains being served on time, lack of table service and lack of tasty dishes results in an absolutely horrid dining experience. Shocking.

We wont be back.
