Easy transaction from start to finish. I called, I booked, credit card details were taken, a room number was allocated & the key was made available. Excellent directions were given & we found the Motel & our room easily in the dead of the night, The light was on & the receipt was on the table. After a very, very long drive we crashed without investigating much of the room or it's facilities. The bed was comfy but perhaps a bit past it's use by date. The room was clean. A very handy spot to stop for the night as it's a stone's throw from the highway. Would definitely stay again.

This is the second time I've stayed at Jacaranda, this time with my wife.

I had a different room this time, with a full bathroom and LCD TV on a bracket. TV reception was a little hit and miss, and Austar had failed due to a massive storm outside, but that's understandable with satellite TV and bad weather.

For a regional area, Jacaranda Motor Lodge is a really nice stop over. Sure you get a little bit of road noise, but it's outside of Grafton, fairly peaceful, and built up on a hill/embankment, so as a result most of the road noise is deadened.

The beds are comfortable, the owners are lovely and homely, and the motel reflects this.

We will definitely be back.

Stayed at the Jacaranda Motor Lodge recently for an overnight stay for business.

The motel is set back from the highway at South Grafton, leading to suprisingly little road noise, so only the lightest sleepers might hear road noise.

It's fairly typical of country motel rooms, and whilst many may think "it needs a renovation", the reality is that not every motel NEEDS a renovation to be decent. That said, different lights, and bedspreads can make a big difference.

Later in the evening there appeared a fairly heated verbal conversation in the car park. Not sure what that was about, but it was a little un-nerving to say the least.

Inside you have your basic bed layout, a small table and chairs, LCDTV and tea/coffee making facilities. The basin outside the toilet is a little different!

All in all it's not the sort of place I'm used to staying in, but I had a good nights sleep, the room was nicely laid out, and staff very courteous and polite.

The price is the real winner though, with more than reasonable rates.

Would I stay at Jacaranda again? Most likely. Taking into account the fittings, the price, and the decent sleep, it is hard to go wrong!

Keep in mind Moos Restaurant is not open all the time so best ring ahead and confirm, else Grafton is the closest.

A quick left turn was our response to the "Tired, Hungry, Thirsty?" sign on the Pacific Highway on our recent drive to Sydney. Passing a duck pond on the windy road we were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves on top of the hill overlooking the Clarence River just 3kms north of Grafton. The air was noticeably 'country fresh' and our hostess was really friendly and efficient. The room we were offered had a lovely comfortable bed, a large clean bathroom and a cute sitting room that overlooked the river and highway through large glass windows. We enjoyed the view of a regatta on the river and walked up to the high spot of this 9 acre 'retreat' to take in the whole view of the surrounding countryside. The on-site restaurant offered robust main meals and desserts professionally prepared by the host and we found conversation with these hard-working proprietors very enjoyable and informative. A bonus for us was the fun of watching the visiting bunnies and horses and watching the activity of the neighbouring farmer on his tractor. Feeling like a fabulous farm-stay; this was a definitely relaxing experience.

Room Tip: Northern rooms have either open verandahs or closed 'sitting rooms' to choose from.
