We dined at The Fireside Inn on Saturday evening. Fortunately, we had booked in advance as the restaurant was packed. TFI has an old English country atmosphere and a slightly rustic look. The building itself is constructed in a reproduction Tudor style - inspired apparently by the original owner's motoring expedition around the UK in the 1930s! The tables and chairs are well arranged and despite the 'full house' it did not feel too crowded - a bit noisy though. The menu is quite broad and includes Gluten Free choices. Our meals were tasty and nicely presented. The service was pretty good - although a couple of the younger girls serving tables were apparently under training. The 'butchers paper' (yuck) table coverings spoiled the atmosphere a bit, though. A small but acceptable wine list is available and some boutique beers are also on offer. BYO wine is also allowable. If you want some relatively inexpensive pre or after dinner drinks, the Goulburn Soldiers Club (almost next door) is a reliable choice. Overall, TFI is recommended!
