We visited this place in January and it was packed as a result of a half price food special during that month. Service was great, with very friendly and efficient waitresses. I was worried that food service would be slow, as there were a couple of big tables. However, entrees and mains came out quick which was commendable under the circumstances.
Dishes looked good on the menu, but were a little disappointing on the night. Prawns in the entree were the cheap frozen green ones with little flavor and texture. Mains were inconsistent, fillet steak and sauce were pronounced very good, and were properly cooked - rare and rested. Chicken breasts with the herb crust had spent a little too long in the fryer and were quite dark and a little dry. barramundi was tasty but unfortunately well over cooked, but I suspect that if they cooked it properly a lot of the clientele would send it back for being under done. Overall, the food lacked seasoning, which was particularly apparent with my pork belly, which cried out for some time in a brine, or a dry rub, before being cooked. It was a little stringy, as a result of having been cooked for too short a time at too hot a temperature. Crackling was a bit chewy. However, those that had desserts said they were very good.
The wine list was short and local, but a couple of the choices were not available on the night, and some of the wines were pretty uninspiring. A bit more variety and quality would be welcome here. Prices were good, but I would have been happy to pay more for a decent sparkling wine (it was a birthday dinner.)
Overall, this place is worth another visit, hopefully on a quieter night. Can't question the value, though.
