Owner description: A visit to this National Trust Dubbo property, allows visitors to engage in a special experience, stepping back into rural life in the early colony. Its story is one of amazing endeavour and vision, evidenced in the creation of a finely crafted albeit vintage home. The homestead has survived in near original condition at a time when the land was beyond the limits of settlement. Today it is set on 4 hectares of land, surrounded by farmland and is only 5 minutes from the city of Dubbo. Experience the tranquility of a unique part of Australian pioneering history. Enjoy a self guided tour at your leisure followed by a visit to the cafe. Stroll through the homestead's extensive traditional gardens while the children play and visit the ducks and chickens. Guides are also able to assist and enhance your experience. Concessional entry price $6.50/children $4; Family (2 adults/2 children) $20.00.

...we stumbled upon this place looking for lunch...it looked lovely and the history behind it was unbelievable. Stunning surroundings for our coffee and cakes - perfect little place to have a cup of coffee and a slice of cake and take it the peace and quiet for our weekend away. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and seriously the cakes are absolutely amazing. You must visit when in Dubbo!

We were travelling with teenagers. They enjoyed the visit. Audio buttons to push, rooms you can enter & chairs you can sit in added to the interactive history lesson they didn't known they were having. The location is beautiful. We were there just over an hour.

Interesting house and surrounding area was interesting as well however I was a bit surprised at the $20 entry fee for a family.

We arrived at the homestead after closing just to have a look at the price maybe for a trip the following day. The management could not have been more welcoming. They kept the place open so we could have a look around and were even given a tour by Tim (and his dog) which really brought the place to life. This may not be one of the most advertised attractions in Dubbo but the house and grounds have been lovingly restored and is definitely worth a visit.
