“Unimpressed!”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

I visited here on a Monday afternoon (23/09/13) at 15:30 hrs. Every table and window bench, except for two tables in the whole downstairs section were uncleared of used crockery, bottles and leftover food. There were plenty of staff members there, but clearing tables was either not in their job description or not deemed an important part of their role!! We had 2 x coffees, 2 soft drinks and a caramel slice (not worth the $3.50 price tag). Overall the place felt untidy and messy, not an inviting environment to eat in. We chose The village Bakery because of its rating on Tripadvisor. I will not return or recommend this place!

“Wish it had better pram access!”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

I love the pies from this bakery! They really are fantastic, as is all the food i have tried here - plenty of freshly made food for the more health conscious too! It can get quite busy during the lunch hour trade, so we tend to avoid it during those times. I'm not really a fan of the sweets on offer, so i can't really comment on them as i have not wanted to try them. Nor am i a fan of the breads they have on offer - i prefer actual bread (healthier versions of it), to fairy-floss type fair. They do offer gluten free though which is great. I would be more of a regular here were it not for the difficult pram access and lack of room inside. I'd love it if they expanded the bakery and had more sit-down and outside seating arrangements. We've never had an issue with finding parking nearby. Has the potential to be so much better, but what it does offer, is pretty great too. Highly recommend it for the (savoury) food.

“Best pies ever”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

And I mean ever. Get the chunky pepper steak or regular pepper steak and enjoy the cleavage. Usually busy so line up at the little known second cash register and tip if you're a local for quick service.

“Good coffee, good breakfast, great cakes”
Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

I think this is one of Dubbos secrets. Good value for money, good coffee and good breakfast. Bread is so fresh and the cakes and sweet treats are to die for. Make the time to visit this little gem
