Four hours staring at all the carnivores at the zoo got us thinking about meat pies. On the drive back into town we saw a road sign advertising award winning pies and we took that as a sign to give them a try. We found the village bakery easily and were surprised how large and busy it was. We ordered a vegetarian quiche, a curry chicken and vegetable pie (very mild curry flavor), a thai chicken curry pie (which tasted nice but nothing like a thai curry) and a standard sausage roll. It was all Okay and hit the spot. We also ordered some rocky road, a chocolate covered shortbread shaped like a gingerbread man, and a ice cream cone filed with marshmallow and sherbet. If you're hankering for a reasonable pie or some sweet cakes, I would definitely recommend this place.
