We visited this cafe on the recommendation of the owners of the apartment in which we were staying.
Unfortunately, on our first visit, wanting breakfast before heading off to the Western Plains Zoo, we were too early. The cafe doesn't open until 8.30 am.
We ate instead at the Village Bakery Cafe - a dreadful weak flat white ($3.75) and soy flat white ($4.25), and egg and bacon rolls ($5.95 each) on sweet air bread! Just horrible.
We went back the next morning to the Short Street Store for a quick coffee before hitting the road. What an eclectic place! It was packed with locals eating from a delectable breakfast menu at amazingly cheap prices. The lunch menu was equally appealing.
They also have delicious sweet treats, all made on the premises. We stocked up!
