At last on my frequent visits to Bathurst I can really look forward to a great meal. No more having expensive pseudo "modern cuisine" with bad service and noise. The Acropole has risen from the ashes of the previous owner and is now once again run by the family who ran it so well years ago. They pride themselves on fresh ingredients and made to order cooking - and original family recipes including their famed lemon meringue pie and baked cheesecake - as well as yummy Greek baklava etc.
This visit I brought friends along too and the word is obviously spreading that this is what good food is all about - the restaurant was fairly humming at lunchtime - all ages and types of locals and visitors alike.
The meals are affordable and genuine, there is carpet on the floor so there is a background hum of happy people and no scaping of chairs and loud voices.
It can be as posh or as low key as you yourselves make it - whether for an after sport visit for a milkshake or a barista quality latte or a great occasion dinner.
So on your next trip to or through the Central West town of Bathurst - come and relax at this restaurant right on the main corner of town, and enjoy the unique ambience of the gloriously restored Acropole and it genuine quality meals.
