“Breathtaking”
Reviewed March 23, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

It was my first trip to New England. I had not quite known to expect. Yes, i wanted to see the Wollomombi alls and, yes, they were spectacular. Buy i really had no idea of what to expect from a 'farmstay'. Lucy was pretty amazing in providing directions "turn right at the top of the hill, gravel for about a kilometre, turn right and then after 300m you'll be there'. So, after following these instructions to the letter we were there. The location is magnificent - the country side just falls away as gentle hills and you cant help but feel at peace. The farmstead? Its a genuinely spacious house - free, thank God, of frills and finery but full or air and light. I love cooking and i was immediately at home in one of the best equipped kitchens i've ever been in. The larder puts mine at home to shame. I honestly could not recommend the place more highly!

“Charming, comfortable farmstay in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed February 26, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

This is a large, comfortable, well furnished and maintained farm home situated on a hill overlooking lovely Australian countryside. It has lots of accommodation and amenities to keep visiting families and friends comfortable and entertained.

The hostess is a delight, brimming with enthusiasm and the provider of lots of useful and interesting information. I hope that we get to go back there again, it was a highlight of our driving trip with friends from overseas.

“Exceeded our Expectations and Hospitality was Great”
Reviewed January 17, 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Relaxing country location with views of rolling hills. The house was bigger and better than we imagined, with a beautiful, fully screened outdoor room. There were 10 of us staying, and there was room to spare. Farm fresh eggs were provided on more than one occasion - fabulous eating.

The creek running through the property was great to sit by, or search for trout or platypus. Given this place is on a fully functional farm, the animals nearby were great just to visit or ask about.

There are many waterfalls and bush walks near by. With roads around to drive for hours to soak up the Australian countryside, or stay at "home" to relax, eat, drink and soak up the views.

Absolutely lovely.

“An amazing place to explore New England”
Reviewed August 7, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

What an amazing place to stay...

The farmstay is in a stunning location that feels miles away from the road between Armidale and Dorrigo.

Lucy, who runs the farmstay, offers a free breakfast on the first morning, consisting of bacon, eggs and fresh milk - all of which was delicious.

The house has got all of the home comforts anyone could need.

“Ideal rental to explore New England High Country”
Reviewed August 2, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We had a great time at Ridgemount House. You are completely “away from it all”, down a smooth gravel road about a km from Waterfall Way without another dwelling to be seen within the very extensive view. We opted not to take part in the farm activities and were left in perfect seclusion. The sky at night is breathtaking.

Comfort was five star with large, clean rooms and an efficient air conditioning system with (silent) outlets in each room. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking from spices to aluminium foil, so all you need do is bring some food (except for the delicious first breakfast which is provided).

The property is in an ideal position if you want to visit the tourist attractions in New England. Three National Parks are less than 20 minutes to the East and Wollomombi Gorge (a must see) is about 10 minutes to the West. Going further afield, Dorrigo (rainforests) is about an hour to the East and Armidale (and Gara Gorge) about 40 minutes to the West.

We created wi-fi from the mobile reception and found it was good.

“Beautiful picturesque location”
Reviewed July 17, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Very comfortable house with all facilities in beautiful picturesque location. We hope to be able to return some time. Please note those for whom it is important there is no wifi, though mobile reception (including data) was fine for our stay.
