we are big lovers of chinese food. we spent 2 nights in te anau. we tried the other chinese restaurant on the first night and was disappointed with the westernised food and cramped atmosphere. so we decided to try this one the second night and was hoping for something better. must say this place was one of the best chinese we've had during our 3 week trip around nz. was very busy when we went, lots of customers especially bus groups. because of that we had to wait a while for our food but we didnt mind. was definitely worth the wait, the sichuan boiled fish is a must try for spicy food fanatics! honey king prawns were perfectly done. wish we could have ordered more dishes but there was only two of us (then we could have tried more of their amazing food!). for the price you pay (considering its tourist town, will be slightly more expensive than a city), it was worth every cent. highly recommend this place for those who know what authentic chinese food is!

we tried milford lobster(crayfis) and it was delicious despite the high price(almost doubled than in Auckland). its a hk style chinese restuarant. its a bit crowded and noisy due to the tour groups.

We went to this restuarant today and had a terrible experience. There were some hair in our food and when we asked the waiter who was his son, he exchanged it. Then upon paying the bill the owner who is an old Chinese man started question us that how come there is long hair in the food when all his workers have short hair! Unbelieveable stuff - we could see plenty of women waitresses. The last straw was when he accused us that we are playing dirty tricks on him by putting our own hair in the food. Short of throwing up right then and there we left very unsatisfied to say the least. Go there only if you have no other choice in all of southern hemisphere.

Felt a bit like being in the school cafeteria, and the food was ordinary. This is not a restaurant I would choose to visit again.
