Keiko's Cottages & Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #15 of 29 Te Anau B&B and Inns

Persons planning Fiordland attraction visits should definitely consider Te Anau as their departure base. Lakeside Te Anau is itself quite scenic, just commercial enough to be serviceable, and hours closer to Milford Sound (road round-trip) than Queenstown. For my wife and I Keiko's Cottages B&B was an ideal place to stay. It is in a quiet neighborhood, about ten minutes walk from the commercial center, surrounded by Keiko's lovely gardens. We lodged in the back cottage, which I believe may be the smallest -- with a kitchenette and sitting area it was cozy but sufficiently large for us. Kevin and Keiko are delightful. This was a no-car holiday for us, and Kevin graciously transported us from and to the bus and drove us to a beginning point for a pleasant hike. He arranged our Milford Sound booking and offered many other suitable suggestions for activities in the area. The breakfasts were ample and well-prepared, including jam from Keiko's garden fruit. As a surprise bonus (we are casual birders), a long-tailed cuckoo posed on a railing just outside the breakfast room window on the morning of our departure.

My partner and I spent 5 glorious nights at Keiko's B&B, in the lovely town of Te Anau. Relaxation probably expresses the best feature about Keiko. Kevin handled all our bookings with complete efficiency and ease, so we didn't have a thing to sort out or stress over. Both our hosts were exceptionally friendly and provided us with a wealth of information about this beautiful part of the world. Our room was quiet, private and very comfortable, surrounded by an abundance of colour from the gardens. Every morning we had a fantastic breakfast. The B&B is just a short walk into town. Thanks Kevin and Keiko for being great hosts.

My family spent 4 nights at Keiko's Cottages over the New Year holiday. The cottages are lovely and private, surrounded by beautiful gardens. It was a great place to relax and just a short walk to town. Kevin helped us plan our trip - he is really an expert and had great suggestions for us. Keiko prepares the best breakfasts on the South Island - the Japanese breakfast was a special treat. We also enjoyed the hearty and delicious continental breakfast. We hope to have the opportunity to go back!

We spent three wonderful days at Keiko s and found a quiet Bed and Breakfast cottage surrounded by beautiful flowers and exotic plantings. Kevin worked with us to arrange and re arrange our itinerary in Te Anau and could not have been more patient and helpful. Keiko made me vegetarian Japanese breakfast which was a picture of lovely foods in a box. We give this accomodation a hearty 5 stars.

Keiko and Kevin were lovely. They explained a lot about tips to Milford Sound and its surrounding. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean too. The breakfast was good. Definitely worth the money to stay there. Will come back again!

Friendly hosts, happy to book additional activities and advise on other attractions and activities in the local area.

The room was comfortable and spacious with a hob, microwave and fridge available, and the garden was beautiful.

We just spent three nights at Keiko's, a wonderful little place surrounded by a beautiful garden. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Next time I will be sure to try the Japanese breakfast, which looked fantastic. Kevin and Keiko, the owners, were welcoming and very helpful with good advice about the area.
