Fiordland Lakeview Apartments was our base for a trip to Milford Sound. Our ground floor apartment had a gorgeous view of the lake and was clean and comfortable. It's definitely dated (in terms of design) but was perfectly fine for our purposes. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful (even tracking down a large soup pot for us when we asked for one). There was plenty of parking right outside your door. Free wifi. The walk into 'town' is 5 minutes along the lake. Totally fine to stay for a night or two as a base for exploring the beautiful Fiordland area. If you were staying for longer you may miss having a couch but for our two nights we thought the two large recliner chairs were quite novel!

Room Tip: All units have a lake view as well as a balcony or little terraced area so you can't really go w...

We stayed here for two nights. It was a great pit stop after spending some time in Milford Sound. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with a very pretty and quiet view of the lake. Equipped with everything we needed the rooms were clean, if not a little dated in terms of colours. We had washing to do and we were able to use the laundry area and clothes lines. It was a nice short walk into town - food was pretty average but store owners etc are all friendly. Motel staff were friendly. We would come back here to stay if we are in the area again.

After a few emails back and forth, I arrived earlier than expected & actually met a staff member in person, she was friendly & got the check in completed quickly (much needed after a flight & drive).

First impressions of the hotel (from the outside) is beautiful. The inside was nice (a little dated), the rooms where massive. Again a kitchenette with cook top & a good size fridge. It had a separate lounge over looking the lake, simply stunning. The bedroom was at the back of the room & overlooked the car park.

The main down fall of the motel is the door into the room is glass (and right next to the bedroom), sadly there is only a part wall between the entry and the bedroom, the door itself had not curtain, so I summer when the daylight doesn't disappear until 10pm, it can be very hard to sleep, also the motel has outdoor lights which create a lot of light. Also there is no cross ventilation, so in summer the room was very hot & we found it hard to sleep.

All in all it was a good stay with friendly service & a big room, a few things that could improved (a ceiling fan in the bedroom & curtain on front door).

Thanks team for a good stay.

We stayed here 3 nights in a ground floor apartment. The view across the grounds to the lake was lovely and it was very clean. The young ladies in reception were very helpful with local tours and advice on walks etc.

The rooms were a little dated but I was told that they are working on getting them more up to date and I could see where this had been done. I find that most accomodation in Te Anau is expensive as it is a major resort so I wasn't worried about the price of the room.

We stayed for 2 nights in the 2 bedroom apartment above the office area. The apartment was huge, beautifully decorated and with a well equipped kitchen, recliners in the lounge area and a beautiful large bathroom. We had a very comfortable stay. There was free wifi which was unusual in NZ and much appreciated. The views from the front window were gorgeous! 2 small issues, there was an ashtray full of stinky smoked cigarettes on the balcony table which was not pleasant, and when we checked out the lovely young lady in reception was not sure how much we should be charged and couldn't find our confirmation / booking in her computer system in order to confirm the price. We had taken our pricing / paperwork with us but thrown it out after we checked in so could not prove our pricing quote to her. It was sorted out but was a bit surprising. Overall we enjoyed we found this apartment very comfortable and had a great stay.

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom apartment is great!

We stayed here for two nights, the rooms are very large and have great views, although they are quite dated inside and could use a refurbishment. This isn't a big issue, but it's worth noting. Very clean room. Perhaps slightly on the pricey side given the dated interiors. Great lake views, and a very short drive to the main part of town. Staff were all friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

Difficult to give an overall rating for this property. I honestly would put it between average and very good.
We stayed there two nights. The views are lovely, well maintained garden. Room was large with dining, kitchen dining area with separate bedroom and bathroom. It was clean and tidy but felt it was a little dated inside and smelt a tad musty.

Excellent views of the lake.

Very good place to stay for one or two nights if going to Milford or Doubtful Sounds. Local pub The Moose has food that is reasonably priced and quite good quality.

Receptionist was very helpful with organising the boat trip to Milford Sound and keeping us up dated on the access through following a land slide.

Room Tip: As far as I am aware all have good lake side views.
