What a strange wee place. very busy but they insist on customers queuing to place their orders when it would clearly be easier for everyone if they came around the tables. BUT the pizza was yummy (vegetarian) Good idea to order a side dish like a salad to eat with it. Would return for lunch maybe rather than dinner

Thank Julia E

Far and away our worst dining experience in a five-week NZ trip. The service was incredibly incompetent, and the food barely qualified as mediocre. (Why ever did we decide to try a pizza there when there when we could have gone back to Toni's just around the corner where we had greatly enjoyed a pizza two nights earlier??) Worst of all, the woman who appeared to be the manager was the most unpleasant person we met in NZ. New Zealand is a country of wonderfully friendly people. That this person even works in a restaurant, let alone manage it, is beyond me.

This was one of the few places open for a late lunch ore early dinner in town. They served a tasty pizza and the surprising thing was the bottom was crispy and they had the opportunity of ordering an affordable small sized pizza. Cappucion reasonable, personnel friendly and service was quick. On top of that, I liked the atmosphere and they have free Wi Fi. Very good value for money for kiwi standards.

Surprised to see this place gets so many very very low reviews. It deserves better.

So good we ate here twice! Brilliant little restaurant - unpretentious, good food, relaxed and efficient service, lovely atmosphere. What's not to like? Oh, and gluten-free pizzas too :-)

We walked around town looking at the different menus at restaurants, and this looked menu looked interesting ~ wholesome, more organic-based items. What we should have paid more attention to was although the seating outside was full ~ nobody had food in front of them, only drinks…
We went to the counter and ordered a greek salad to split, a vegetarian lasagna and a pasta bolognese. Everything is ordered at the counter and you pick up your drinks (wine choices were bad - went with beer) and your cutlery. We took a booth inside and settled in… and in.. and in…I ended up going back to the counter (after at least 15 minutes) and asked if we could at least get our salad. It came out in a split second, but still nobody outside had been served.
The salad was fine ~ fresh, with the classics (olives, tomatoes, cucumbers) but nothing special.
Finally food started coming out to the people outside ~ it seems like it was all coming at once for about 10 tables… and we received ours as well. It looked pretty good, but as soon as I got into my lasagna, it was cold on the inside. I immediately took it back. My husband's bolognese, while hot, was NOT bolognese ~ there was scarcely any meat to be found, and not enough sauce.
My lasagna came back ~ steaming hot, but again, NOT lasagna - not lasagna noodles, very few vegetables and more cheese than any tomato sauce- seriously, just a plate of pasta noodles and cheese. It was sticky and heavy. There's a real italian restaurant down the street - give it a go- we should have.
