This boutique cinema has seating for nearly 60 and is typical of several in similar sized small towns in the southern part of South Island. The attached bar sells snacks and drinks which you can take in with you although the ledges adjoining the wide armrests could do with a space cut out for your glass, to avoid the danger of spilling at exciting screen moments! As mentioned by others, the half hour showing of the fiordland travalogue Shadowland is time exceedingly well spent. NZ makers of this genre are arguably the best around, and the outstanding photography is stunningly beautiful. In the evenings the cinema screens a rotation of two or three recently released movies per week, par for the local course. We were lucky enough on Good Friday to see a special preview of the excellent depiction of the life of Christ 'Son of God'.

This was my third time watching the stunning footage of Fjordland National Park and as every time it enchanted me. The little cinema is the ideal place to watch this movie taking you to the most spectacular placed in Fjordland filmed from a helicopter. Almost as good as flying in the helicopter yourself.

If you are in Te Anau this locally produced film has great footage shot from helicopters of the fjords and surrounding area. If you are in Te Anua it is worht a look and the theatre and seating is very nice and comfortable.

This is definitely something to see while you are in Te Anau. We saw it before our cruise on Milford Sound. Make sure to get the $1.00 discount coupon from your motel, etc.
