Unless you can eat early, then booking is essential, we saw lots of potential customers turned away last night. The food was well cooked and presented, and good sized portions. We shared a starter, duck spring rolls with salad and hoi sin sauce, 4spring rolls! Mains were a venison shank, new to the menu and I can well recommend! The other main was a veggie burger, tasted ok but the texture was a little dry and crumbly. No room for puddings! A reasonable wine list and acceptable prices by the glass.

we ate here on the second of our two nights in Te Anau and wished we'd found it the first night so we could go again. The service was brilliant and the food outstanding. Large portions and delicious!

We stopped in on the way to Milford Sound and had to stop in the following day on the way out as the food and service were fantastic. The coffee was great and the scrolls and toasted sandwiches were reasonably priced and delicious. We were served by the owner who was extremely lovely and has done a great job with the atmosphere of the Fat Duck. Would have loved to have been there for dinner, would highly recommend it.

Went here for diner having stopped by the afternoon before for a drink and weren't disappointment. I had the venison which was delicious, as was my husband's fish of the day. Service isn't exceptionally fast, but staff are friendly and it's a nice atmosphere, so if you aren't in a hurry, it's worth a visit.
