Just spent 3 nights in a 2 bedroom lake view apartment with spa. The view from the apartment and deck was exactly like a postcard. Apartment had a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, 2 bathrooms and lounge opening onto a large deck with great outdoor furniture and the spa.The apartment is situated on the main road into town and there is a free shuttle bus service on the hour into town. This was really appreciated as Queenstown was very busy! However, there were a few flaws. Firstly, the housekeeping. On our second day we rang reception at 4pm to find out when the room would be serviced (daily servicing is advertised). They came around 4:30pm which is late but just acceptable over the busy holiday time. However, next day it got to 5pm and the room hadn't been done. A call to reception told me it would be soon. Arriving at 5:50pm to service a room is not acceptable as with the excuse the hotel is busy at the moment.
In terms of decor, there are mirrors everywhere! Didn't like watching TV surrounded by a large mirror. But worse there was a huge mirror in the bathroom which meant you had to watch yourself sitting on the toilet! The spa was a little tired and almost impossible to get in to without using one of the outdoor chairs. A small step would have been beneficial.
The gym was tiny with poor equipment.
Receptionists were helpful and friendly They supplied clean towels when housekeeping let us down. David, the shuttle driver was also very friendly.
View counterbalanced flaws.
