This busy bar/restaurant was recommended for its steaks - and they were certainly very good. It is a little noisy in keeping with the centre of town and a busy bar/eating/venue. It is not a cheap eat out but quality is very good and servings are generous. Service was excellent. The wine list is fair, the Otago Pinot Noirs excellent consistent with the climate and soil of the area. A real treat. All in all a convenient venue, bookings for us were not needed but it is not the peak tourist season. May be best to book when it is busy. Outdoor seating is available if the weather is good. The menu is comprehensive and does allow for mains other than steak but that seems to be the specialty of the house.
