“Cozie comfy and close”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

Stayed for 6 nights beginning of May. Great little boutique hotel, FANTASTIC staff, helped us with everything we wanted restauants tours maps advice just great.
Cozie comfortable rooms, close to the main town. A couple of minutes walk maximum.
Highly recommend. Even a good glass of wine and canapés by the fire each night.

We loved everything about the hotel and our stay there. Everyone was friendly and knowledgable; the decor is warm and modern; the location was perfect - a couple of minutes walk from the center of everything - close to everything but removed just enough to be peaceful. We will certainly stay there again, hopefully before too long!

We stayed here in February - high season with all the weddings. Price was reasonable for Queenstown prices. The room was comfortable and its an easy walk ( 2- 3 minutes) to town for restaurants and shopping. I recommend it for a weekend getaway.

My first impression was one of disappointment. The reviews mostly rave about this place, and driving there we couldnt find it at first. It's a lowslung, longish building next to a sports field, without any signage or obvious place to enter. They do have limited parking under the hotel, but we parked on the road which seemed to be fine. The entrance is also a letdown if you're expecting a "luxury boutique hotel" - The furniture is a very basic white, with pretty much only a pc on the reception desk...it looked a bit temporary to me, but maybe it's supposed to be a modern/spartan look. The rest of the hotel however is nicely furnished. There cant be much more than 20 rooms, most facing the street which while not really busy does have traffic. Now, with most rooms (other than maybe 3 facing the park) facing that street it all depends how light a sleeper you are. All ground floor rooms (other than the few facing the park) have a patio with a couple of chairs and small table are one level below the street, but you can see the gondola if you look up. There is a hedge to block you from people walking by on the sidewalk. So it's sorta kinda a view.

The room we stayed in was nicely decorated (leaning towards modern) with a comfortable bed and we did feel a bit better about the place once we'd settled in. One pet peeve (and it's really minor and irrelevant on deciding for or against this hotel) were the light switches above the bed which controlled a bunch of different things. It was more funny than anything, but it always took pressing 2 or 3 different ones until you finally got the one that controlled e.g. the lighter window shade, or the curtain for the bathroom etc.

There is also limited service available. I think the hours for the reception (which more often than not had nobody there, tho you could ring a bell for assistance) were maybe 7-10. Supposedly you could call a number if you needed assistance. My feeling is that a high-end establishment (and priced as such) should do a bit better. The service we did get was friendly and helpful, so no complaints there. They serve wine and snacks around 5-6pm which was nice, but we found the small sitting area next to reception to be so small as to pretty much always be full. I'm guessing it's a typical thing as a staff member offered to bring wine and snacks to our room, which while nice wasnt quite the same thing.

The location is just a sportsfield (really just a big green field with no noise) away from downtown and so a bit more peaceful, which we liked.

Overall, would we stay if we went back? I think I'd try somewhere else first, but would certainly consider it again.

I'm so glad I chose to stay at this hotel for my 3 night stay in Queenstown.
The staff are extremely attentive and helpful at all times, the room I stayed in was absolutely fantastic - a view to die for! The standard of finishing is excellent, everything is very classy and lovely. The bathroom was fab, with an enormous sky light in the roof, it almost felt like you were showering outdoors.
Canape Hour in the evening is great - yummy food and wine, and a good way to meet other people in the hotel.
5 mins walk to centre of Queenstown.
Cannot fault this hotel and would definitely go back if I return to Queenstown one day...

Room Tip: I had room 12 - lovely :-)

I stayed here with my daughter for three nights in mid-March. We arrived at the hotel after a long trip from the US. After receiving a very warm welcome at the small front desk, we were allowed to check into our room early so that we could take a quick nap and freshen up before walking into town for lunch. The upscale room was spotless, well-appointed and very comfortable but, oddly enough, did not have a closet for hanging garments.

The location is excellent for Queenstown, just a five-minute stroll into town and far enough off the beaten track to avoid the late-night crowds and noise. The staff could not be more pleasant and they host a nice wine reception each evening in the small lobby area. We ate breakfast in the hotel one morning and it was excellent.

The hotel is more expensive than most of the options we looked at for Queenstown but it was well worth it!

This was our third stay at Queenstown Park Boutique and it never fails to meet our expectations. Above and beyond with service, very attentive and knowledgeable staff, beautiful and comfortable rooms.

Love the lounge area and the evening drinks and canapés. Great way to meet fellow travellers or kick off the evenings festivities.

Will definitely return for a fourth time.

Room Tip: Rooms on the rugby field side would be a little quieter and have a full bath!
