“Perfect campervan park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012

This was one of the best parks we stopped in while in NZ. The grounds are well presented as are the facilities. The toilet block has to be the best I've ever seen as far as the cleanliness and the excellent wall art. The staff were great and very patient and helped us book all of our activities while we were in Queenstown. The location is perfect as they are only a few minutes from the city centre and a couple of minutes from the supermarket. If you are campervaning around the south island make sure you stop here, you'll love it like we did.

Visited the Creeksyde top ten in Novermber for our honeymoon in our campervan. Arrived to a warm welcome and set up our motorhome. It seems a pretty cramped site, but for the time we are there it’s no bother what so ever. The toilet and shower facilities were perhaps the best we had come across on any top 10 site in New Zealand, fantastic!

Creeksyde is a perfect location for those wishing to visit Queenstown (which we LOVED), In our eyes a visit to NZ without going to Queenstown is pointless!

When here we visited Milford sound (which is mind blowing, a must do!)

All in all, a very nice site and will stop again.

After spending a week touring the South Island in our Jucy van, we've stopped in quite a few holiday parks recently. We spent 2 nights here and it was a refreshing change to arrive and be greeted with somewhere with a little bit of character! Holiday park kitchens can be very utilitarian but this has squashy sofas and actual decor, rather than the usual white walls and Formica tables. In addition the toilets/showers are very clean and inviting - much more than I could say for some of the places we've stayed! I can't comment more as we spent most of our time exploring Queenstown, but I would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay. Thanks Creeksyde!

We arrived in our oversized camper an and managed to get it parked in the more than ample spot.

The best bit about our 3 night stay was the advice and help we got from the reception staff who made us feel welcome everyone we walked in with yet another silly question or enquiry.

We took their advise and had some great trips and activities

My wife and I had previously stayed at Creeksyde Queenstown in October 2007 and decided to stay there again this time around. This time we had a friend with us. Both times we were in a camper van and both times were excellent experiences. Creeksyde is a 10 minute walk from the town centre where you can book activities such as bungy jumping, jet boating etc. We also spoke to a cleaner about the facilities and he mentioned that all tea towels, shower curtains etc were washed every morning. Our friend who came along was pleased to know that. The facilities were always clean and the park is well presented. Highly recommend staying there.

Room Tip: We were on site 31 in out camper van. The wife thought this was the best site in the lot.

The good: great location - 5 minute walk into town. Several kitchens, lounges and bathrooms so never felt cramped. Very clean.

The bad - every window in the bathrooms were open 24hrs a day, so they were freezing. Nice hot shower spoilt by the open windows. It was minus 3 at 7am. We felt that $49 per night for 2 in campervan was quite steep, but then we weren't paying for parking costs in town - swings and roundabouts.

Mixed dealings with the staff. One was very friendly and helpful, another made me feel like I was an inconvenience. Sites are close together as previously stated, we were lucky with a hedge between 1 neighbour and a picnic table the other side, but we could see others that were a bit tighter together.

Firstly I would like to apologise that you were made to feel like an inconvenience, we have very experienced and customer service focused reception staff and this is last thing we would want our guests to feel.
We have noted your comment regarding the bathrooms, we do have windows open as well as extractor fans to release moisture as at peak shower times there can be a lot of steam from hot showers! However, we maybe don’t need as many open or as wide during the winter months. Thanks for bringing this to our attention; we will be looking into this.
We are very lucky to have such a great location to town and glad you enjoyed being so close to town!

As you've probably learned if you've read any of our other reviews, we were Top 10 devotees from an early stage of our NZ trip, so we had high hopes for Creeksyde. It's in a great spot in the centre of town, the setting is beautiful and the facilities are great, but we couldn't help but feel that they've sacrificed comfort and space for a few extra dollars - we were packed in like sardines. We saw traffic jams where one van had stopped to empty their waste water and blocked up the road, and queues to get into the site because vans checking in had blocked up the entry road for others. So although it's a lovely picturesque site, it's not as calm and relaxing as we'd hoped. However, I can't justify knocking 2 points off for the lack of space, so Creeksyde gets a generous 4.

Hi Alex & Carly,
Being a centrally located park in one of NZ’s busiest tourist destinations we do have lots of visitors in peak times such as the school holidays when you stayed. We do try to check guests in a quickly as possible to clear the entrance, however we also don’t want to rush guests if they have questions etc..
We do have lots of plants and flowers and bordering along side Horne creek this does make it a very picturesque park, which I’m glad you enjoyed. Come and visit us next time out of school holidays and I’m sure you’ll find us calm and relaxing.
Thanks for posting feedback.
