We stayed in unit 6 for about a week as part of a ski trip. Really good value

The view was probably the best i've experience in a hotel/apartment, panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains - The Remarkables. This view can be seen from almost every room in the unit- kitchen, living rooms, every bedroom. No problems with noise. Location is ok, but need to catch taxis to and from town at night cause its pretty cold in winter. Its not expensive though.

The facilities in the apartment are super modern and it is very tastefully decorated. Fireplace was great. Two problems: downstairs gets pretty cold, those tiny oil heaters are not powerful enough to keep the place warm in winter - hard to get out of bed (which have electric blankets). BIGGEST PROBLEM: the hot water tank is tiny!!! Only 2-3 people can have a shower before the water gets cold - terrible experience after a long hard day of skiing where everyone wants to have a shower when they get back. Seriously invest in a bigger water tank.. the manager is aware of this problem..

The service received here was questionable. The stairs were completely iced up for about half of our stay here (3 days), we repeatedly told the owner to remove the ice as it was super dangerous. At one stage we even asked for the tools so we could do it ourselves! The driveways into the place were completely iced up as well, so sometimes we had to park on the street. Yes we were driving small budget 2WD's, but i could see that all the other hotels around us were having their driveways cleared.

There is no wifi in the units, only in the office - pretty ridiculous. You have to pay an outrageous $10 per person to use the Sauna. They charge you for toll free numbers made on their hotel phone. Trying to get the garage key from the manager was like getting blood from a stone. As we had an extra person in our unit (pre-planned) we needed an extra pillow - amazingly there "wasn't" a single one available so we had to share our pillows.

All in all, despite the drawbacks we did still have an amazing experience there, thats how spectacular the view and unit is. The problem at this place is a genuine inexperience with customer service, and un-neccesary penny pinching. The couple of dollars you save from being tight arnt worth the negative reviews that will be posted later!

We go skiiing in Queenstown every year with our three kids (4-9) and are from NZ. We know what to expect for our money in NZ and unfortunately a great location, view and apartment layout were spoiled by the service and approach of the mgrs. Problems started from trying to enter the apartment as the front door sticks and locking and unlocking it was a major problem. The upstairs toilet door was the same and our kids were scared to shut the door incase they got stuck inside.
The apartments are advertised as "serviced" however after two days of nothing we called the managers to find out that this meant only the beds were to be made and towels changed (even this had not happened for the first two days). When we asked about the spa that was advertised on the website and brochures in the apartment we were told it had broken 2 years before. We had to ask twice before the mgrs would give us the remote for the garage as they were worried we would lose it (we basically had to insist on it). There were literally no hangers in any of the bedrooms and again we had to insist before some were found. The advertised drying room was a cupboard in the garage with no heat and so no use for wet ski gear. We did not expect 5 star luxury but we did expect what was advertised on the website and we did not expect that we would have to continually call up mgt and make a stand to get it. Even after we pointed out the misadvertising re the spa we note that a month later it is still advertised on the website.

We stayed in Unit 3 Earnslaw apartments, which is separately managed from the other units and had a fabulous stay. Pauline from queenstownholidayhomes.com was wonderful, she answered all our enquires and the apartment was in spec condition when we arrived. After a day of sight seeing it was great to come home to the apartment and have a glass of chardonnay on the deck overlooking the magnificent views of the lake and the Remarkables. The sun doesn't set till 9pm which surprised us, so we always lost track of time and ended up having far too much to drink, before walking down to the town centre and getting dinner. The apartment can sleep up to 6 people and is beautifully furnished. All the bedrooms are downstairs and boy were the beds comfy! We really enjoyed our stay in Queenstown and would recommend the apartment to our friends.

My husband and I and close friends spent two weeks skiing in Queenstown. Earnslaw View Apartments were a great choice for our holiday. Apart from the most amazing view of the Lake and the Remarkable Mountains the apartment was beautifully furnished and very comfortable with a cosy fire place for those winter eveings. Value for money was good, location to town approx 1.3 kms was convenient and we would definitely spend another holiday at Earnslaw View Apartments.

We had an excellent stay. The apartment is very contempory in design and has large open living areas, great for us! When we arrived we couldn't believe the fantastic views right down the lake and acoss to the Remarkables mountains! The downstairs bedrooms are nicely furnished and have plenty of room with comfy beds. We walked into town a few times, but also caught a taxi a few times which was cheap enough as it was close.

dont get fooled by the website. very well marketed...
but once you are there (on your own, they prefer play golf than pickup the customers at airport), you realize you will have to change the accomodation for the safety of your family...
the owner is only money oriented and has no clue what "service" means. the place was not even prepared for our arrival (pre paid, though...), no heat (wintertimes, though)...
Queenstown people are great. follow thei recommandation, and forget abour this location!

We stayed at number 4. These are like individual townhouses with three bedrooms downstairs, two with lake and remarkable's views, and living areas and laundry and indoor access to your own auto lock-up garage upstairs. The living area's beautiful with stunning views from all areas. All apartments have only one common wall to another apartment so it's very quiet and you don't have downstairs and up-stairs neighbours to deal with like most other accomodations. We were high up in the hill so you get a better view than lakeside accomodations. The hosts, Chris and Ron and Debbie were very helpful in all enquiries and they'll book whatever activities you want to do before hand. It was lovely and clean and we enjoyed sitting by the fire daily with our breakfasts with the views as backdrop. The Sky TV was very comprehensive with hardly any restricted channels, compared to most other Sky Channels offered by other accomodations. It was very clean and was serviced daily. We had doonas on the lounge at nights and find them nicely folded when we return from the day's acitivities!!

It was definitely a home away from home... better than our own apartment in Sydney!!

The only downside is the curtains in the bedrooms don't block out lights completely... and that you could hear traffic from the main road..
