What a thrill we book the jet boat helicopter and luge and gondeler what a fantastic day and one that our 9 year old could take part in having watched everyone else take Part in extreme things. We all loved it the jet boat was awesome and what skill to manouvre! The helicopter took us to the top of the mountain to have 5 goes on the luge. Luckily we went earl morning so not loads of people good call. Fantastic views mixed with great choice of activity for all the family well worth it!!

“A classic made brilliant by the driver”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We were lucky with the weather as it was very sunny and warm. This meant that the wet clothes and hair dried quickly. Don't think you are going to stay dry! The impressive thing for me was the control the driver had over the boat. He took it to within 6 inches of the canyon wall whilst doing 50 km/hr and managed to park the boat in a gap in the rocks after doing a 180 turn in the river. It was like the scene from the Blues Brothers. We flew over the rapids at about 80km/hr and did 360 turns that covered us in water, even the driver was getting soaked. Yes its costly and yes there may be rival boats in other places but this is the original and frankly the best.

“Great ride and scenery”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

We both enjoyed the jet boat ride. The whole package was very well done with the short bus trip, with video, then quickly onto the jet, jackets and life jackets to wear. Certainly needed the jacket, got very wet on the outside but clothing stayed dry, wet face and hair.

“The most excitement you can have on a boat”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Although it is expensive, the Shotover jet is good value for money. You travel through a stunning canyon at blistering speeds narrowly avoiding collision with walls and completing 360 degree spins, all in only 10 cm of water!

Secondary rides are fairly cheap, at $20 a pop, and purchasing pictures are on par with any other NZ attraction. Try and sit as close to the driver as possible for the best ride, and video if you wish to purchase it.

Well done guys! You will get my money again!

“Great ride, a bit tame, expensive”
Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

Went here just today, it was a great ride and would be good for kids and people who are a bit afraid of going on things like the bungy, it was good fun but definitely not adrenaline filled or scary. The scenery is beautiful, but you can do a walk along the same river to see that. It cost $129 per person and that doesn't include photos, they charge an extra $39 for photos and $59 for videos.
