We stayed at the Alexis for 3 nights in Jan 2013 and would loved to have stayed longer. The owners, Kelly and Adrienne, are lovely people and made us feel very welcome. They were very helpful in giving advice on what to do and see, and more importantly where to eat! The apartment was very spacious, very clean, well equipped and had a comfy bed. The kitchen had a convection oven which is a bonus. The views were amazing, especially looking out over the Remarkable Ranges. There is off street undercover parking. Our one bedroom apartment (#12) also had two single beds in the main living area and the apartment is large enough that you did not feel cramped. A family of four could stay here very easily. There is no balcony outside the room, rather there is a large communal patio with tables and chairs overlooking the lake and mountains....a wonderful spot to sit and contemplate life! Location is on the main road but traffic noise not an issue. It is an easy 10 minute walk into the centre of Queenstown with its shops and eateries. We found walking a far better option than driving as parking can be a problem. Thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: Apartments on south side (such as apartment 12) have great views.

Spent six days in a panoramic studio room and found the room very large, kitchenette great and view fabulous. The owners were extremely hospitable and made us feel very welcome. Was able to glance in quite a few rooms and they all looked equally as comfortable and well appointed. The bed was a bit hard for our liking, but that's just our preference. Would thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to have a great view, but lake end room was especially good.

My wife and I booked a "lakeview studio apartment" with spa in the Alexis, but somehow our paid and confirmed booking, made through a large international booking company during the week or so before our planned stay, was stuffed up. The owners (managers?) refused to take responsibility even though it was obviously their fault, and didn't try to contact us before we arrived to tell us they had oversold our room, leaving us with the task of finding last minute accommodation at about 6 O'Clock at night.

For the sake of comparison, the location of the Alexis was slightly worse than where we ended up staying, and the view (from those rooms that actually have one) was comparable. The Alexis was significantly more expensive, however. We can't remark on sleep quality, etc, as the room they offered us was so far below the standard of the room we'd booked that we refused to stay.

If you do decide to stay here, do whatever you can to make sure the room you end up with is the one you book. The rooms vary immensely in quality.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get the "cupboard under the stairs". If you book a studio apartment with spa and lake view, make sure you get it!

This accomodation is in a great location just a short walk to the town centre and the lake. The rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped with views of the lake. The owners were very helpful with booking our jet boating trip with Dart River Safari (a 'must do') and horseriding on a local farm.
