We had pre-booked a Milford Sound trip via Real Journeys, with a coach trip to the Sound and a return flight back to Queenstown. Unfortunately, the Real Journey's return flight didn’t materialise due to deteriorating weather conditions, but at the airport the Air Milford pilot offered my wife and I the spare seats on his aircraft. We were very pleased and accepted immediately. The flight home was excellent even though the initial leg back down the Sound was a little bumpy. It was wonderful to see the full length of the Sound at such a low altitude and to re-visit the sights from the boat trip, The return flight across the mountains was fantastic and pilot very helpful and friendly. A great landing with the bonus of a lift direct back to our accommodation at Remarkables Lodge. Overall an exceptional trip and we would thoroughly recommend Air Milford to anyone, especially as we understand that Air Milford are able to fly far more often than Real Journeys because of their more powerful aircraft. Another added benefit was that the cost of the Air Milford flight was less than the refund we later received from Real Journeys for the cancelled flight.
