“stunning building inside and out”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

The hotel does look much more striking than the usual fare around it. We stayed in a room at the front/side which had decent lake views from the small side balcony. I'm guessing there is a wide range of rooms at the hotel as it is a bit of a maze. The room was spotless and the bathroom was modern with an exceptional shower. The spa was a bit of a hike from our room and indoors unfortunately but was very well maintained. Underground parking was appreciated as we really didnt need our car so close to town. My partner missed not having anywhere to get a decent frothy coffee on site but who can complain about the stunning 5 minute walk along the lakefront to town. The surprise bonus of a bread maker delivered to our room with freshly baked bread inside was very original and welcome.

We stayed here for 5 nights in December with our 3 children (4, 3 & 1). W had a 2 bedroom courtyard room and it was perfect the kids enjoyed running around the lovely courtyard and the suite was plenty big enough. The location is great a 5 minute flat walk into the centre of Queenstown and lots of lovely restaurants and cafes. We were never disturbed by other guests and everywhere seemed very clean and tidy, every staff member we encountered from reception, cleaners to the very nice man cleaning the courtyard area couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for 29 nights November/December 2012 and enjoyed our stay immensely. Our apartment immediately overlooked Lake Wakatipu and we had a good sized balcony on which to have our breakfast while enjoying the fabulous view. The apartment is very close to centre of town at about 5 minutes walk.
The apartment was well furnished, good shower, plenty of storage space for clothers etc and had a large sofa in the living area as well as a breakfast island and dining table.
One quibble we would have would be with the Wi-fi arrangements, which we think are not up to modern standards as in most of the world charging for wi-fi is now like charging for water.
We hope to be back to this apartment in the future.

I highly recommend this hotel in Queenstown. It is a short walk away from the town centre but far enough to be quiet in the evenings. My wife is disabled and the hotel could not have been more accommodating. We had a fabulous room with spectacular views. Special mention for Leo on reception who was outstanding.
My wife did find the bed rather soft but that's a personal preference.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your great feedback on your recent stay with us. It is wonderful that that you both enjoyed your stay with us. With regards the bed, if one person likes the bed firm, we can place a bed board under the mattress on their side to assist to help to firm up the bed. A suggestion for next time.
We look forwards to welcoming you back again in the future.

I cannot say how much I enjoyed my couple of nights at Peppers Beacon. I stayed in a lake view room on the 3rd floor with uninterrupted views of the lake and mountains. The 1 bedroom apartment was spacious and well appointed and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.

Well done Peppers! I will be back!!

Room Tip: Ask for level 3 at the front. Sure, right on the road but the traffic stops at night time.

Booked on hotels.com, stayed in a hotel room (or a studio, not sure). Enjoyed partial lake views that were ok for the price we paid although we didn't spend too much time in the room as there is so much to see and do in Queenstown. Location is excellent; just a short stroll to the city centre. Staff was helpful and rooms were clean. Complimentary guest laundry was a bonus!

Two nights with full breakfast. Very reasonably priced. Had a fifth floor room (504) which was average size, comfy and clean, and a glimpse of the lake. It was very private and quiet but that could have been luck with no neighbours. To get to the room was rather convoluted by lift and then through a courtyard - difficult if it rained and too many steps when lugging suitcases. However it was very pretty and nicely maintained..
The staff were very pleasant and breakfast was delicious with good variety.
The hotel was a short stroll along the lakeside to town so very convenient to everything.
I would stay again - perhaps with a balcony room next time.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback of your recent stay with us. It was wonderful to read your comments of the location of our property, and that you enjoyed your full breakfast. I will ensure this is passed to our chef.

In regards to your room we are sorry that you found access difficult, if we were aware of this we could or moved you to another location in the property. A lot of guests do like prefer room 511 and 510 due to having access to our courtyard area, particularly the summer months. (Room 504 on the building is the room next door to where you stayed).

We look forwards to welcoming you back again in the future, if you would like a room with a balcony I defiantly recommend booking a 1 bedroom lake view suite.
