“Great value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

We paid for a premier room but were upgraded a level to an executive studio, very spacious, large bathroom with shower and spa bath, good kitchen facilities, etc, well located a short walk from the downtown area. Wireless broadband was extra but not unreasonable. We were totally satisfied and would definitely stay again. Central Queenstown has a lot of bars and young people partying and we prefer to not be too close to that scene.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor and these rooms appeared larger than those on the 2 floors above.

Certainly not a 4.5 star apartment. Rooms not cleaned to a good standard. Dead fly on windowsill for the entire length of our stay. Room stank of curry, could not get rid of the smell. The room is definitely overpriced.

Used washing machine in the laundry room which cost $4 which is twice as much as any other hotel I've stayed in, in NZ.

Our view on our patio was the back of a hotel and could see no lake or mountains. There were quite a few people peering in at us from the top balcony of the adjacent hotel. Not too good if you like your own privacy.

Overall ok rooms but definitely not worth the money.

We are disappointed with what we thought was 4.5 star accommodation and if we had not prepaid we would not have completed our stay. The room was dated and the furishings tired looking. The balcony was tiny and overlooked rubbish and part of the hotel next door. The room was extremely stuffy and while we were provided with a fan when we complained it didnt help much. The cleaniness was a problem for us, while on the surface it looked clean when we entered, the cupboards were dirty and cups were put away unwashed. The bathroom contained a spa but it looked far too dirty to use and the shower curtain was mouldy and manky. The bathroom exhaust fan didnt work very well leaving the bathroom hot and full of condensation, which meant it was extemely uncomfortable to be in there too long. Our room was full of sandflies when we arrived and were told to get our own fly spray. There wasnt enough parking for everyone which left us to park halfway down the street on a few occasions. All in all we were disappointed with the quality of this accommodation and felt the rating and pictures on the net did not add up.

This place is qualmark rated 4 star plus and definitely deserves this rating. The rooms are modern, very spacious and quite clean. The spa baths are a great addition to the bathrooms and the beds are huge and comfortable. Our room had a kitchenette with everything we needed during our stay and our rooms were serviced well each day. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were given a late checkout which was a nice end to our stay. The downfall was that we were given a small amount of milk considering the length of our stay, and told we would have to pay for more if we used it all. The internet was also quite pricey, considering the other places we stayed during our trip all gave us internet for free. It would have been nice to have been given even just a small 50 megabites for basic internet/ email use. It is just these small things that take it from 5 to 4 stars for me. However, given the reasonable price, I would stay here again and recommend to others.

I enjoyed my stay here. Beds were comfortable, rooms had everything I needed, and everything worked as it should. My only gripe is the pricey wifi but then this is a NZ thing not just this inn. Short walk from downtown Queenstown but does involve a hill which may be a problem if you're out of shape.

I have stayed at this property now several times while on business. The property is well appointed and fairly spacious. It is well within walking distance to the town centre. The kitchen is well appointed but dont plan to cook a feast as they are designed for people on holiday more.
The staff I have found to date a bit non discript but maybe over time they may be a bit more open and welcomng.
Most importantly most of the units are quiet ( some a bit more than others ). I personally prefer units which have easy acess to my car for access purposes. Several times I have been placed out back and its been a mission to access my car.
Pricing is very good for Queenstown and for value for money in my opinion would be hard to beat.

This hotel is a bit on the outskirts of Queenstown, and is not at the lakeside, despite what you might read. The decor is really dated (80's), and some of the furnishings are quite cheap quality (the closet, for example). Our rooms had a small kitchen when first entering, and the room I stayed in smelled like someone had cooked quite smelly food there and it had permeated all the furnishings...for 3 days, it smelled! The rooms had small balconies, which were nice and had nice views of the mountains. The office is only staffed from 8am-8pm, so if you arrive late, or need something late, you are out of luck. Also, no lift! Carrying full suitcases up stairs is not something I expected to do. The bathrooms have very deep tubs with jets, but no grab bars, and nothing to keep you from slipping if you try to take a shower. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is older, or anyone with any physical limitations, given the lack of lift and shower situation.

Room Tip: No elevator, so choose the first floor if you have heavy bags.
