“Fabulous!”

I would highly recommend Coronation lodge. We have just arrived home after travelling for the last 4 weeks staying in lots of different places and, Coronation Lodge is right at the top. It has everything you need, starting with very friendly and efficient staff, who made all the bookings for our activities such as the Canyon Swing, Bungy jump, Zip wires, and white water rafting. Mel was able to give lots of advice as she had already done most of the activities herself. The rooms are beautifully decorated, exremely comfortableand perfectly clean. The Kitchenette was very well equiped and everything was of a very high standard. We were able to wash our clothes in the very neat and tidy laundry. The location is perfect and within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. We loved Queenstown from the moment we landed at the airport to the moment our very friendy taxi driver took us back to the airport after our 3 day stay.

Great location and very comfy rooms with nice view from veranda. Rooms were modern, clean and spacious. Only complaint was that the owner decided to throw all his rubbish in the outdoor bin at 630 am making a huge racket and woke us up. He then proceeded to hose down the driveway right under our room for the next hour and since there is no AC it was quite noisy since the windows were open. But hey, who wants sleep when on holiday so we got an early start to our day but more consideration would have been nice.

Really nice spot close to botanical gardens and town centre. Rooms are spacious and clean and some have a nice balcony overlooking gardens. Big beds with lovely crisp sheets which were super comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful and stored our luggage even before we had checked in while we were on a four night hike.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed, included free wifi. The kitchenette was well stocked and included decaf coffee and biscuits, as well as fair trade coffee and hot chocolate. Our only issue was that the design of the shower meant that water ended up all over the bathroom floor. We would have liked to have been 'green' and not requested a room clean and fresh towels, but we had to use towels on the floor to stop ourselves from slipping. If that could be remedied, then the room would be great.

....couldn't ask for anything more! Stayed two nights, would stay again. Highly recommend! Just a short downhill walk from the center of town (uphill back, but no problem)! Next to the Queenstown Gardens. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good signage. Would have preferred a room downstairs as I had luggage to haul - no elevator - but they helped me. Queenstown is in a beautiful location. It's like a cross between Aspen and Seattle, with the hills of San Francisco thrown in. You don't have to do all the extreme stuff to enjoy it - take a gondola ride, visit the Kiwi Birdlife Sanctuary, take an hour and half cruise around the lake, enjoy some wine. Lovely.

We stayed for five nights, and based on earlier reviews we picked a room with a kitchenette so we could have more space and make some meals. I loved the location which was between the busy downtown and the quiet Queenstown Gardens and trails along Lake Wakatipu.

The best part was the staff which provided great advice and convenient bookings for our many excursions. There was a thoughtfulness and warmth that made our stay the most enjoyable possible.

Room Tip: No elevator to second floor; steep (but not long) hill to downtown.

This hotel is a short walk downhill to the centre of Queenstown so is very convenient for strolls around the town and down to the lake. The comfortable room is spacious with a large wet room/shower room. The picture window in our room allowed us to see the mountain range called the Remarkables; some rooms must face the lake. The staff were very helpful. Treats were the coffee plunger in the room and nice biscuits! The laundry room was good and inexpensive with a shelf or two of books to read while your laundry is drying, although there is an outdoor line you can use too. We made good use of the vouchers for the Irish pub near the lake and had a lovely steak meal with beer for $40 for 2.

Room Tip: There is no lift and access in the late evening is via stairs so beware if you are a wheel chair use...
