A fabulous place with exceptional staff and great rooms. The day spa is lovely, the beds are super comfortable and having a decent espresso machine in the room is wonderful. I keep coming back here as even the shortest of stays is totally rejuvenating.

Stayed here one night at end of Back Roads cycling trip, so the hotel was chosen by Back Roads and the room was included in the trip price. The hotel is over-the-top luxurious and located in the heart of Queenstown. The room was very well-appointed and the bathroom included both a "spa-tub" with water jets, a television built into the wall over the tub and a separate shower

We ate dinner at the steakhouse attached to the hotel and Lisa described her filet as the best she'd ever had.

All in all, a great hotel experience.

It was our first time stay at Sofitel Luxury Hotel & Spa. We were only in Queenstown for 1 day. I had read previous reviews of the Hotel & they were all consistent with high praises & sincere gratitude to Sofitel.
Sofitel Queenstown exceeded my expectations, considering I had utmost respect for this esteemed establishment before even staying there.
We arrived on 25/01/14 just before 9:40 a.m. My husband & I were amazed by the Parisian decor. The interior & exterior of Sofitel is simply unique & breathtaking.
Concierge greeted us with genuine smiles & 'Bonjour'. The kind gentleman Brian opened the door for us & took our suitcase. We were seated immediately.
Sue the lovely lady at reception looked after us very well. She let us know that our room would be ready in 10 minutes. Check in time is normally 2:00 p.m. I was very impressed with this as I'd been up since 3:00 a.m.
We were also advised we would be in a Executive Room so we were on that package. We had a late check out at 12:00 p.m, complimentary unlimited Drinks & Canapés between 5-7 p.m & complimentary full buffet cooked breakfast.
Already blown away at this stage by Sofitel's great southern hospitality. We were offered refreshments too.
Our room was ready within the timeframe mentioned too. Brian led us to our room & updated us on the hotel & room facilities. He is very knowledgable & helpful.
The room was divine, comfy luxurious King Bed, balcony which you can see Mountain views. You must also try the Spa Bath, you can relax & watch tv!
Breakfasts in the Left Bank Cafe were simply delicious!
Nue Champayne & Martini Lounge, is unique & stylish. You must go in & enjoy a beautiful Central Otago wine. Experience a quiet nostalgic environment.
I could go on forever talking about the Sofitel in Queenstown. We were amazed & intrigued by everything!
I strongly recommend that you stay at this hotel whether it is for a short or long stay.
It's value for money, great convenient location in the town centre. Scrumptious food, beautiful surroundings with a Parisian influence. 5 star world class exceptional service by all Sofitel staff.
Next year for sure Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa is our special place & first choice to stay without a doubt!
Well Done! Team Sofitel.

Nice modern property. Hip stylish decor. Friendly staff. Great breakfast - lots of options. Rooms are decent and bathroom is modern and spotless. It is in a great location - steps from main street of town. We went on the Milford Hike and our balcony over-looked the Ultimate Hikes tour company where were had to meet for the start of the hike and info meeting. Super convenient. They were very happy to store our luggage during the hike - no issue! Only downside is that given the location, it can be noisy, especially if you keep you balcony doors open. Queenstown can get rowdy at night, esp. on weekends.

My husband and I went to lunch at the Left Bank Cafe beginning of January during our last stay in Queenstown. We were very impressed! The food was delicious and the service impeccable. The menu offers a variety of options showcasing the amazing produce found in this part of New Zealand. A great little spot!
