As a platinum member of Accor, I was upgraded to the executive floor. Room is great. Service is nice. Good place! The only thing I dn't like is the water tap, which is well-designed but poor controlling to me...

I think I would have to say the Sofitel Queenstown has the comfiest beds ever. Slept so well there. Front desk staff very helpful and attentive. Only weak spot was slow service in vie restaurant. But would definitely consider staying again.

Perhaps the best location to stay while in Queenstown, New Zealand. Centrally located to virtually everything. Walk everywhere or rent a bike at the shop located just outside the hotel. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be going back soon. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The rooms and bathrooms are good sized and have terraces. The only thing I didn't like were the televisions which are Phillips Ambi-light models. They have LED lights behind them that cast enough light in the room at night that it makes it close to impossible to sleep while the set is on. These TV's are, in my opinion, one of the dumbest inventions ever created. There was no way to turn the LEDs off, so I couldn't fall asleep with the set on, which I like to do. Maid service needs some attention also. Everything else is great. I also had massages in the spa everyday of my visit - heaven on earth. This is a great place to stay!

An over rated hotel.
Front desk staff were less than helpful, getting a massage was a challenge and a external provider was needed. Hotel staff visited our room unannounced and entered without knocking. I would expect this of a cheap hotel.
On the last day a late check out was requested -- possible to midday - but the electronic door lock to our room was deactivated at 1130 -the front desk reception staff said this was normal!! By the time they got into action there was on 15 minutes to pack.
The breakfast buffet was very pedestrian.
The beds were lumpy and mastering the TV controls required electrical training.
This wouls be one of the poorest luxury hotel I have stayed in recent years. The Soffitel in Tahiti is wonderful but the Queenstown Hotel fails to deliver.

Spent the weekend in Queenstown. My husband and I just love to stay at Sofitel Hotels as they are such a treat. From the moment we stepped into the lobby we were well looked after by the friendly and very efficient staff. Our room was not quite ready so we had brunch in the cafe which has been changed since our last visit to resemble a Paris cafe. Just lovely. Then we were taken to our rooms and shown how everything worked, but the thing we love best about Accor hotels are their BEDS. Just the best ever, its this feature that keeps bringing us back to this Brand of hotel when we travel.

Staff was super helpful. Beds were excellent especially after traveling so long. Breakfast was pricey but well worth it!
