I had booked an apartment for five nights and got a bit worried as I had to pay in advance and read a couple of terrible stories from other travellers. However, the apartment was great, spacious, had a lovely view, was reasonably clean and well-serviced and had excellent amenities. The bathroom was just great, loved the spa....and there's also plenty of parking space.

It is definitely not a budget accommodation nor a hotel, therefore I did not expect the reception staff to be very informative, nor highly skilled, . There was work in progress on site (just next door) so there was a bit of noise occasionally in the morning. However, it was not unbearable and almost undetectable in the living room.

Pros: all the above

Cons: Construction site almost next-door

I was so impressed with this place. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment - room 19 - and asked specially for a nice view when booking. Well the view could not have been better. While this hotel is not on the water - you'll pay alot more for this - you are situated at such a height that it makes absolutely no difference that you have a house or two infront of you. The view is stunning and I personally liked the way the apartment was decorated - it felt very cosy and warm. The heater in the bathroom was very welcome, as was the spa jets in the bath - a nice surprise. My one criticism was all the pillows on the bed were incredibly soft, but that would only be if I was really looking for a criticism. Next time we return to Queenstown, we won't hesitate in knowing where to book.

Lovely apartment and suited us (2 adults and 10 yr old and 7 yr old) perfectly. It is an easy walk to town, but a medium gradient back. We didn't have a car at first so it was great to walk off all that good food we were eating. Only takes 10 minutes and is pleasant near the park.
The property has a private spa pool which you can book for 30 minute periods near the office.
Highly recommend to families as long as you enjoy a stroll (or you have a car). We had a great view of the Gondola and the mountains. Modern decor, great little kitchen, handy laundry and dryer.

The garden court was a fantastic apartment located just outside the heart of town. It's a very short walk to the town centre, about ten minutes, less if you are enthusiastic. So location is great.

The accommodation was very clean, modern and quite new. My family and I stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The room sizes were average, but each room had an LCD on the wall which was a bonus. Both the master bedroom and the second bedroom had a view of the surrounding mountains if you looked hard enough. The only complaint with the accommodation was that one of the beds (which happened to be mine) had bed bugs. So only one of the three beds had bed bugs, but I suppose bed bugs are almost unavoidable.

There was a kitchenette which had a microwave, stove, oven and all the necessary equipment for cooking your own meals, however, if this is your plan, I do advise you take your own frying pan because the frying pan supplied by the hotel isn't the best quality, so limited foods can actually be cooked on the stove.

Internet facilities are available, however are quite expensive $6 NZ for 30 minutes, you are better off going to an internet cafe in the town centre where some places are 10 cents NZ a minute or $4 NZ for an hour.

If you are going there for a ski trip, there are fantastic facilities; there is a communal drying room which is a joy for your gloves, boots and even your pants! Also, there is a spa which you can reserve to revive your aching muscles, too bad I didn't experience it, I didn't know the hotel had one until I got there, in which I didn't bring my swimwear!

A hot breakfast is an option, but if you are on a budget, there is a frying pan which is more than adequate for frying a few eggs.

Overall, the accommodation was wonderful. Very clean, friendly staff, good location (very close to Queenstown town centre), great facilities for the snow bunnies and best of all, it won't stretch your wallet as the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the accommodation. Wonderful place to go, I highly recommend it.

I picked the Garden Court apartments on recommendation of a colleague. It was across the road from the Millenium Hotel where I was attending a conference last week.
It was cheap ($160 NZ) a day, and since I didn't need anything fancy it was fine.
The reception staff were friendly, but didn't always have the right advice - on checkout it was snowing, and the girls said that our flight out would be cancelled "for sure". It wasn't, and probably calling your airline would be more reliable for that sort of info.

We got a studio room right on the front of the complex. Very noisy with road traffic, which started pretty early due to ski shuttles going past. Also our room was right next to the apartments side entrance, so everytime someone came in or out, the air pressure would rattle our door.
Access to a courtyard was handy, but door locks looked a little flimsy - with such easy access to the doors, deadlocks would have been more reassuring.

Bathroom shower curtain was too small to completely enclose the alcove, and there was no exhaust fan, so hot showers steamed things up too much. Oh, and if you do open the window of the bathroom, be aware that anyone outside or in the hotel across the road can see you very easily!

Otherwise room was OK. Bed and pillows OK, TV OK, small bar fridge, toaster and kettle, cutlery all handy for breakfasts in the room.

Overall, a nice place to stay, although I get the feeling some of the apartments towards the back of the hotel, with Lake Wakatipu views were newer, and the ones that got featured on the website.

We stayed one night in a studio apartment with our baby. It was quite a large room with large bathroom (with bath which was good for bub). The room was warm, nicely furnished with thick drapes, had a comfortable bed and had a nice lookout onto a garden area with a bit of a view of the mountains. I don't think there would be any studios with view of the lake and it didn't appear that many of the other apartments would have direct views of the lake - I may be wrong. Could not park directly near the unit and had to walk up some stairs to get to the room. There are some parts of the apartment that are just starting to show a bit of ageing (ie minor cracks and stains) but overall a very clean and comfortable room.

Close access to Queenstown shops.

On arrival we were allocated to a room which was nothing like the room advertised on the website. We were told that the apartments were in the middle of being refurbished and our room had yet to be. The staff were understanding and readily upgraded us to a recently renovated suite, which was ten times better. The room had a balcony with lovely mountain and lake views and a spacious living area. It was located on the outskirts of Queenstown, within walking distance, but up a very steep hill - almost worth getting a taxi back! The staff were helpful and pleasant - especially when we realised, after we had left, that we had left various items in the reception safe!
