“Relaxing and memorable weekend”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

We stayed in a one bedroom balcony view.We did book for an upstairs room. When we arrived we were offered a downstairs room with a balcony.I went to reception but somehow we could not get the other upstairs room.I made peace with it and enjoyed the partial view of the lake and mountains. The room had all the luxury items like washing machine.tumble drier ,spa bath option, heated bathroom.I love to bath and really enjoyed the relaxing bath.Good cooking facilities but groceries quite expensive.A bus stop was accross the apartments.Handy when traveling on a budget.A lovely quick walk to the mall park where the lake is.I forgot an item but after a few emails they sent it back to me,The free continental breakfast was good though a microwave available would be perfect to heat the milk.I would love to return one day in summer time.

Room Tip: If you really need a good view of the lake and mountains you need to ask a guaranteed room with view...

We stayed at the Garden Court Suites for 4 nights at the beginning of May - the rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and very welcoming and the views are absolutely stunning. Very centrally located and you can walk off dinner on the hill climb home. A fabulous property that is very reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again.

Booked here after all the favorable reviews and were not disappointed. Perfect walk to and from town every night. Not busy while we were here so very quiet. Also got a great price from an online booking

This was the second time we’d stayed here in a one bedroom balcony apartment with a lovely view of the lake and mountains. The apartment is very comfortable, private and has everything you need for several days stay, including a kitchen, washing machine/dryer/iron. You can dine at neighbouring hotels, walk to town within 5-10 minutes or to the lakeside park and ice skating rink.
Outside it was very cold, but good heating within the apartment.

Generous supply of tea/coffee/milo/sugar, toiletries and laundry powder.

One point to note, that to reach our apartment from the car parking area, you had to climb some covered, exterior stairs, but we managed and we're not spring chickens!

Room Tip: Go for the upstairs apartments that have a balcony and face the lake.

A relatively comfortable "apartment" stay. Walls are a bit thin, and some noisy other guests were a bit of a drawback, but really clean and reasonably well appointed units (although a sharp knife wouldnt go amiss!). The floor in the upstairs bedroom was ridiculously creaky, and we were very conscious of our travelling companion who was sleeping in the downstairs room.

Disappointing that our room was serviced so late that we had completed our days activities, and were relaxing before dinner by the time they came by, and as a result we simply had our towels replaced.

There seem to be a LOT of rules in the compendium... To be honest a bit overkill, but I guess people can be muppets and they are trying to head trouble off before it arises.

Breakfast was included which was a bonus. There was a good variety of continental breakfast choices, and it was fresh and tasty.

Someone else commented on the cheap Internet... I actually didn't believe the price when I saw it, cos it seemed amazingly cheap! Obviously it's for real, and is a big asset!

All in all a pleasant stay. A terrible pity that it rained so much that we couldn't take advantage of being so close to town!

This place was alright. It was close to the town which was great, but it was so loud. The walls are like paper and you can hear every person in the complex talking or shutting doors at all hours. Also the internet was pretty dysfunctional and the chair in the main room was all torn up on one arm. It wasn't bad...it just wasn't very good :(

We arrived at 11 am so our apartment wasn't ready but they let us leave our luggage so we could explore the town. Very easy and friendly check-in. One of the reasons we chose the Garden Court was the good reviews and almost free WiFi, something that is rare in NZ. The charge is $1 for 24 hrs. A new log in is needed each 24 hrs period so you have to go to the lobby and request a new one each day. We stayed in 2 different apartments at this location, both 2 bedroom, during our QT trip. The first one had a side view of the lake w/balcony. One bedroom was downstairs with a full bath, the other upstairs with a full bath. We also had a washer/dryer in the room, w/soap provided, as well as a full kitchen. The downstairs shower was very funky with no shower curtain, only a small (maybe 2 1/2 ft) glass partition to keep the water from running on the floor. The back 3/4 of the tub was open to the vanity and floor so not only did we have to move things so they didn't get wet, it was also cold. We had to use towels to mop up water that flew out. This was the ONLY negative thing I can say about our first stay. Parking was underground and a little tight with an SUV.

Stay #2 Our 2 bedroom apartment faced the courtyard this time. Both bedrooms were upstairs with a 1/2 bath between them but the full bath was downstairs. Again, it had a shower with no curtain or enclosure and again the floor was soaked each time the shower was used. No washer/dryer in this unit. Parking was right outside the door.

We would defiantly stay here again! It was an easy in/out with the car, free parking, and walking to the center of town was only 5-10 min. Yes, you have to climb up the hill to get back but it was a nice walk after dinner.
