Owner description: Coronet Peak is New Zealand's most accessible ski resort, an easy 20 minute drive from Queenstown via a scenic, sealed access road. Whether you're an expert seeking long rolling trails or completely new to snow sports searching for a learn to ski/board package, the friendly team at Coronet Peak are ready to make your mountain experience a fun and easy one. Modern facilities, extensive snow making and long operating hours all so close to Queenstown means more time "on snow" during your holiday.

We went there for a paragliding session where we flew from the peak. The view is not as beautiful as the view of the Wakatipu lake from above, it is all about the mountains and hills which are all green, but it is still beautiful, in different way.

I found the Coronet to be a much more organised ski field than the Remarkables. As an intermediate skier there were more than enough blue runs to keep me busy for 3 days. My wife came up for a day and found plenty to do as a non skier. Planning our return in August as I type.

We visited during Summer, the roadside wild flowers were in full bloom, beautiful range of colours in the flowers. The road is a well surfaced, easy drive, and a scenic road to travel on route to Wanaka. Plenty of places on route to pull over to let drivers pass or to stop to photograph the view. The scenery changes dramatically and must be very impressive during the winter months too.

The location is not so far from Queenstown, reachable by private car. It's very nice to see the surrounding panorama, great view.
