Owner description: Coronet Peak is New Zealand's most accessible ski resort, an easy 20 minute drive from Queenstown via a scenic, sealed access road. Whether you're an expert seeking long rolling trails or completely new to snow sports searching for a learn to ski/board package, the friendly team at Coronet Peak are ready to make your mountain experience a fun and easy one. Modern facilities, extensive snow making and long operating hours all so close to Queenstown means more time "on snow" during your holiday.

Kids under ten ski free so that's a bonus. Lots of easy beginners runs. The drive up is really very scary but there are buses that go up too. The resort area where there is the cafeteria etc is is long overdue for a makeover- it's crowded and not easy to navigate compared to Coronet. It has a longer season and the Spring ski is great.

The ski season was over when we went up there but the views are amazing. There was a little snow around so some of the children had fun in that.

This is a great mountain to ski...easily accessible (no more than 20mins from Queenstown), long runs and fast lifts, so you get to spend most of your time on the snow. There are a good variety of runs from beginner to advanced, and the advanced snowmaking system means that even if the weather gods aren't kind to us bringing lots of good dumps of the white stuff, piste skiing is still pretty good providing the temperatures are cold enough to operate the snow-making. The low altitude though is a disadvantage on a poor snow year with above average temperatures.

Coronet peak is a great place to ski, but it can live up to it's name of concrete peak, so take care if it's icy.

I took my girlfriend out to NZ to teach her how to board. Ultimately I proved a horrible teacher but the instructors and excellent bunny runs got her up to speed in now time
