Very good hotel, superbly located for all the amenities and attractions that Queenstown has to offer. Very comfortable and clean rooms with great beds, good restaurant, bars and all the usual facilities that you would expect. However, the thing that changed this from a good stay to a GREAT stay was undoubtedly the staff. Couldn't fault them at all. Everyone that we came across was efficient, friendly and so helpful. It was great to see people who were obviously enjoying their jobs.

Two staff in particular went out of their way help us and we have nominated both of them for the "employee of the month" award.

Service this good reflects very favourably on the hotel management, so well done to all of you. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again and would certainly recommend this hotel.

This is the third time staying in the Lakeside Novotel, the staff are more than helpful and always friendly either on the front desk or the general staff throughout the hotel. The casual Elements bar & restaurant offer good food & drinks for you to unwind ( The nicest Mulled wine in town). The hotel has a great location in earl street, nice and quiet yet so close to everything Queenstown has to offer. The rooms ( Queen room facing the park ) are clean & tidy, they are in need of a possible face lift & a bigger TV . The option of secure car parking at the Wilson undercover park is a great advantage always. Its always nice to stay at a familiar quality place.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and loved our stay. The staff were helpful or rather very helpful and friendly! Our 3 year old kid made a lot of friends during our stay at the hotel. Very children friendly. The location too is awesome, not even a min walk to lake or the shops. I am glad we chose this hotel. Parking is also not a problem if you have a car. There are plenty of street parking as well as the hotel parking.

Dear Elite_traveler_927

Thanks for your positive review of our Hotel. Good to hear that the team was extremely friendly to you and your family.

Being from India hopefully you also enjoyed our Indian TV , Indian newspaper and other items - our staff have also all had cultural awareness training for the market so it does look as if these made a difference to you which is great.

The Indian market is an important one to us and we do enjoy having many Indian guests enjoying all that Queenstown has to offer. In 2010 we hosted the Bollywood film makers filming "I hate Luv Stories" with Sanom Kapoor which was very interesting.

We do hope to see you again soon

We stayed at the Novotel for 8 nights in July, peak season ski time. The reason for our choice was proximity to town after booking a holiday rental last year and having to drive in and out of town every day, we thought we'd try something different this time around. Whilst it was an amazing location, right on the lake with a stream and playground right outside your door, there were a few things that could due with improvement. This hotel's room are very small, so for a family of 4 a twin is too tight unless you are having a very short stay. The soundproofing is non-existent, you can very easily hear actual conversations, television, radio, toilet flush/showers of adjacent rooms - not sure how they can fix this without doing an entire refit/upgrade. Furniture, both inside and outside is very tired looking, our balcony chairs looked old. Highlights - Housekeeping was good, staff was friendly, food from restaurant was better than we expected, also, they cater for kids well, showing free movies every night in a mini cinema set up in a room off the restaurant makes for nice dinners alone. Also, kids books and video games in lobby, great to have on hand.

Dear JayEm66

Thanks for your review of the Hotel.

There were a number of great positives - including our fantastic location, friendly staff, great food and the fact that we catered for your children so well - the movie nights were a special over the school holidays but is something that we do when we are expecting a lot of children. We do have the kids corener - a small play area, an X Box with games and 3 Mac stations in the lobby all to match our family offering - Family@Novotel.

You may also be interested to hear that for families booking interconnecting rooms (or two rooms) the second room if booked for children is half price - this is a great option for families staying more than a night or 2 and certainly allows for a lot more space.

Furniture in the rooms and on the balcony should not be looking dated - much of this has been replaced over the last few years and I would be interested to know what room you stayed in - my email address is jim.moore@accor.com if you can let me know your name I would be happy to review. We are currently replacing the TVs in many of the rooms, have just addeed air conditioning to all rooms and have a number of other projects on the go to enhance the stay of our guests.

Thanks for your feedback - I do hope that you may look at coming back and get to benefit from these enhancements.

Thanks

It's in a stunning location - walking distance to all the main attractions of Queenstown.

We had a standard room which was lovely. The hotel is immaculate and the short stroll to the picturesque lake is so worth it.

2 computers in the lobby area with free Internet connection was great too.

staying there for 5 nights on 15-20 July with family with 2 kids. room size felt bit small for 2 big luggage, and 1 stroller. housekeeping staff were excellent cleaning the room except on the last day which looked like the person only did minimal cleaning . asked for body lotion, given but with expiry date last year. Breakfast ok, but yet better prepurchase it when you booked the room as it's cheaper . Location is great, a short walk to everything, and not on climbing up like some other hotels.

Dear Santic s

Thanks for your positive review. Good to see that the location and other services worked for you.

We note your comments about the space in the room for yourself and 2 children - as part of the Family at Novotel policy we offer a second room to families traveling at half price giving our guests an option to spread out a bit and hopefully be more comfortable - this is just one of many benefits for families when they stay at any Novotel.

Thanks
