Queenstown is a tourist town and has a wide selection of restaurants, from fast food to silver service. We like cafes for their casual ambience, mid range in price and unpretentious. We chose Kappa Japanese restaurant, upstairs in the pedestrian mall. It was quite faithful to our usual oriental tastes, plain surroundings, busy, tables all full. We chose a mix of dishes from our long time favourites of Agedashi Tofu, Teppanyaki Chicken and Sashimi. We also ordered a Beef Tataki dish – a cold rare steak dish with Tataki sauce - oishi des!
With a glass each of local wine, Amisfield Pinot Gris it was served in usual speedy and bustling style.
We would go back (and you can’t beat those South Island white wines!)
