“Peaceful location, comfy rooms, close to attractions”

Alex has meticulously cared for this chalet. The gardens are nice, brekkie delicious, and the two dogs very friendly. The reception area is chic and tastefully decorated. The rooms very comfy, beds amazing, and the views of the lake and Remarkables gorgeous. Personal attention by Alex was most welcomed and his advice was appreciated.
This hidden gem is beautifully maintained in a residential area close to the hustle/bustle of Queenstown. Near bus line, and easy walking distance to shops, eateries, 'crazy' sporting type activities etc...

My wife and I spent three weeks travelling around the North and South Islands and this place was one of the best we stayed in. We loved everything about it - the friendly welcome, cool decor, extremely comfy bed, delicious breakfast and very handy location. Compared to some of the places we stayed in the North Island, it was good value for money too.

We had 4 days in Queenstown and selected the "Chalet Queenstown b&b" for our stay based on recommendations. It is not the cheapest of accommodations available, but we found the b&b to be wonderful. Everything is spotless and nothing was too much trouble for our wonderful host Alex. The continental breakfasts were lovely and set us up for our days sightseeing. The Chalet Queenstown is located about 10 minutes walking from central Queenstown and located on the side of the hill overlooking the Lake. If there is any critiscism, it is that the rooms are slightly smaller than we would have wished, but nevertheless well eqipped. Highly recommended.

The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable! While on the smaller side, the rooms were tastefully decorated and well appointed. There was a nice view from our window as well as from the balcony. The breakfast was tasty with good variety. The hosts were friendly and helpful without being overbearing.

We had a lovely few days at Chalet Queenstown - a Swiss-style building with a modern, immaculately decorated and presented interior. Alex is a wonderful host - welcoming, friendly and full of advice, but also discrete and respectful of his guests' space.

The location is a 5 minute walk from the centre of Queenstown and our bright room had a spectacular view of the Lake. Helpfully they provide a fridge for storing the occasional bottle of New Zealand wine to enjoy on the balcony. The amazing view does mean the B&B is a few houses away from the main road coming into Queenstown, however double glazing kept out the noise and it's not exactly a rush hour kind of place!

We really enjoyed the hearty but healthy breakfasts and thought this was an ideal base for exploring Milford Sound, Wanaka, Arrowtown and Glenorchy as well as all the activities that Queenstown itself has to offer. I would definitely go back as I loved Queenstown - great bars and restaurants - and felt Alex and John have created a chic, welcoming B&B which has been finished and presented to a very high standard.

I was in Queenstown for work and had the pleasure of staying at Chalet Queenstown. The Chalet was superb, my room was fantastic with great views to the Remarkable mountain range, the ensuite was spacious and the host superb!

In all a very relaxed and peaceful stay.

the chalet queenstown is a nice little place to stay. alex was wonderful in helping us arrange activities. breakfast was very tasty.
only downsides were that its a little pricey (compared to our other stays around the south island), but this is expected in Queenstown i guess and that the shower/bathroom was a little cramped.
