A long drive up a very steep hill but well worth it for the views that you will experience. Would be wary of driving up in snow unless you are experienced as there are a number of narrow hairpin bends. But when you get to the top you can see forever!!

Truly amazing and a beautiful must do for all seeking a thrill drive up the mountain ans an excellent view from the top. Absolutely worth the effort to drive up the ski resort and enjoy a stunning view of Queenstown.

If you suffer from a fear of heights then don't take this drive. If it isn't a concern the definitely worth the effort. I have skied The Remarkables a number of times, this is the first time nearly bare of snow. A new persective to the mountain. A great view over Queenstown and surrounds. A few minutes drive from town. We left our accommodation a little early and did the drive on the way to the airport. Well worth the experience, (as long as heights aren't a worry).

We visited after the snow season ended. It was actually quite a long road up and very windy, so we only drove just over half way up. However, the views from there were lovely, and worth the drive. The drive must be precarious in the snow!

I've had one of the best ski days in New Zealand at the Remarkables. It offers great advanced runs for those looking for steep sections, and fast/fun blues for intermediates. The park is pretty good. On a busy day it can be too crowded as it gets narrower towards the main chairlift as the beginner zone is beside it.

A friend I Queenstown told us about the Remarkables mountain range. We decided to check them out. However I chickened out and didn’t go all the way to the top. Consequently we stopped along the road up at took in the view. Beautiful!

Reasonably priced hire of ski gear
Good snow and free bus ride to top of ski at Remarkables
Be wary of driving on your own with very windy road up to top 13 kms

Had two adults and one child doing full day lessons (snowboarding) inc. Kea Club for Jnr. Would like to especially thank the instructors who were amazing the whole time with both adults and children. Highly recommend for a family shared activity fro a few days.

we did this on the last day. the approach was even more windy that cornet peak. it was cloudy / foggy and the visibility was about 5-10mts. once on the top there were hundreeds os people. Take it easy going up as this is even more windy than going to cornet peak. but the views were excellent on the way and at the top. they have a fantastic restaurant / cafe at the top that caters for everything.

The views from the top, or even half way up, are just amazing. I only went up to get a few photo's but most others were there to ski. The skiing area looked good for all levels but you should see other reviews for more info on that. The drive up could be a bit hair-raising for those of a nervous disposition! But so worth the effort.
