We drove to the top (base of the ski slopes) of the Remarkables in January (mid Summer) so skiing was out of the question. We were hoping for a pleasant drive and some spectacular views. The views were spectacular and the road was spectacularly unpleasant.
The road is only 13 Km. and I don’t know how else to describe it other than ‘rough as guts’.
It could be such a pleasant and rewarding Summer drive instead of the hellhole that it is.
Come on Kiwis, you can do better than this.
