The Arrow river is one of the most picturesque rivers iin the area. Very attractive and easily accessible from Arrowtown. Be sure to walk along the river both upstream and downstream from Arrowtown when you visit.

We took a 4-wheeling wild ride with Nomad Safaris up the Arrow River. What fun! We had a lovely tea and enjoyed learning to pan for gold...a couple of people found a few flecks. The lupins and clear rushing water are awesome! They even brought some insect repellent against the pesky sand flies. This was only part of the trip...we went into Arrow Town and up to Coronet peak. The place is just so very refreshing and mind-clearing. Loved it!

There are a number of tracks that follow the Arrow River from Arrowtown out to the White Chapel Bridge. Few wee hills. Can do a loop run.

This is a beautiful gem within a area that is famous for it's beauty. Not as spectacular as the surrounding mountains and lakes, the Arrow River is nevertheless very pretty and there is a lovely easy walk (4.2km) that loops out from the town centre and back. Great thing to do with the kids - plenty of places to skim stones etc. and what look like some neat spots for swimming when the weather is warmer.

Lovely, tranquil setting. The views are not as spectacular from the Arrow River Millenium walkway as from other parts of the district, but they're still wonderful. The adjacent Arrowtown village has been kept to a 19th century gold rush theme with a number of good wee cafes. Charming area for a nearby quiet break from the busy touristy Queenstown.
