We had the most amazing stay at eichardts, both my partner and i had heard so much about this private hotel, and how it had recently experienced new owners.
We were blowen away by the service and the amazing rooms with a view, simply spectacular!

The tapas in the ground floor bar,in particular the seafood chowder were to die for!

Room Tip: Any room is amazing

Thanks Chris, glad you enjoyed your stay with us last week.
Now that winter here, Eichardt's suites are without doubt the cosiest luxury suites in Queenstown and make it hard to leave!
Great to hear the bar lived up to expectations as well, we hope to welcome you back on your next visit.

Best wishes,

We loved this gorgeous boutique hotel with its prime location overlooking the lake and in the heart of the town. It is pricey but you get a high level of service and luxury for what you pay. We were upgraded to a spacious, luxurious suite overlooking the lake. Fabulous space with a contemporary fit-out and much appreciated fire place. Fruit and nuts went down well and loved the funky little tea bags!. Bed huge; likewise bathroom. Only issue was a sky-light over the bed which didn't seem to have a shade; a Another bit light a bit early!. The parlour was fun with comfy chairs and complimentary whisky and a delectable sherry. Staff were excellent and we had no issues with pre-dinner drink and had a table available for us for evening tapas. Breakfast was also excellent with a good choice, prompt service and a wide selection of papers. We were reluctant to leave the place and didn't venture far from this hotel as it was too charming and comfortable. Would absolutely return. Another plus; free WiFi hotel wide; excellent!

Thank you for taking time to post your experiences at Eichardt's, I am thrilled your stay was all you expected it to be.
All the little extra touches around the hotel do make the difference don't they, I love those Tea Forte bags, why have the ordinary when we can be spectacular! Glad you enjoyed the whisky lounge as well, we like to make it more of a lodge experience with lots of inclusions, and choosing the selection of single malts and brandies was a sought after job.

There is a shade on a remote control for the bedroom skylight, apologies if that wasn't made clearer on arrival. A lot of guests are blown away with the suites and outlook that the 'instructions' on all the features can get lost, I hope this didn't lead to an early wake up.

Look forward to welcoming you back to Eichardt's next time you visit.

Regards,
James

This sophisticated, boutique hotel is located right in the heart of Queenstown and is truly the best location you could possibly ask for. We had a breathtaking view from our elegantly decorated room overlooking the lake. It was a spacious suite that combined a classic feel with a contemporary twist. The fire place and beautiful decor made for such a cozy and warm setting.

We really enjoyed the fresh fruit and nuts each day and the chocolates in the evening. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom spacious and modern with every luxury amenity you could want - it made it tough to leave the room!

The staff was very friendly and always willing to assist with any request. We had tapas and drinks at the restaurant and the food was delicious and it had a real rustic charm. Definitely a go to place even if you don't stay at Eichardt's.

We will be back and highly recommend!

Thank you for your review, we're delighted to have been your hosts in New Zealand!
Our lakefront positioning is certainly the pride of Queenstown, but we are not resting on our laurels, I'm glad you enjoyed the service and amenities as well.
I have a weak spot for the chocolates as well - hand made in Eichardt's kitchen by the wonderful Marcella, when she isn't baking the cookies for the in room bar.
Hope to see you again soon, safe travels.

This is our second visit to Eichardts. Both times we stayed in a 2 bed apartment for 7 nights. The rate included breakfast and a pre-dinner drink.
Eichardts markets itself to be up there with high end boutique hotels around the world. In terms of comparative value it cost our family of 4 more to stay at Eichardts than The Peninsula in Beverly Hills or The Hyatt 2 bedroom Residence's in Aspen. In some areas it delivers, in other areas it is below par.
Location: Tick. Agree with other reviewers, second to none.
Accommodation: Tick. Cosy, contemporary, well appointed apartments. The rooms could do with a guest directory. TV is hard to work.
Food: Fantastic, although we would have dined in the bar more often if they had a few more staple options. When you are staying a week with the family a toasted sandwich for dinner can be very appealing. I also didn't see the porridge option that the GM referred to in the last review. This would have been an appealing winter option.
Ski service: Sno Pro were excellent. Met us at the hotel and fitted our skis, boots and helmets.
Service: This is the area Eichardts could do better. Staff need to be trained to anticipate in-house guests needs better. 1) Ski/Luggage valet is needed. This is not a $100/night B&B and dragging your own luggage and skis across the road and up and down stairs is a drag. 2) Don't leave guests hanging with what is included in the rate. For example: Turndown is stated to be included but this only happened after I enquired on the second night. I was then asked everyday "what time would I like turn-down?" This was a bit tedious. By covering this at check-in would save time for everyone. Similarly, if a pre-dinner drink is included in the rate then it goes without saying (you would think) that the bar staff should anticipate that at some stage during the evening you will have in-house guests who would like a drink.
Staff Highlights: Gary at breakfast. Remembered us from our last visit. Friendly, professional and efficient. Anticipated our coffee order after the first morning and delivered the level of service you would expect from this type of hotel. Adam (duty manager) was also very responsive and gave good restaurant recommendations. Lowlights: Evening bar staff: The only place we felt like we received backpacker service. Staff need to be trained to deal with in-house guests. We dined in the bar every morning and every evening before dinner. Day 5 and some staff still didn't know who we were. Staff don't seem to know/ or care what to do with in-house guests when the bar is full. In the end I had to ask for the duty manager, who was more than accommodating with reserving a table downstairs or escorting us upstairs (although we did have to ask for the fire to be lit). So overall we had a pretty good stay at Eichardts. Would we return for a third time? Possibly but would look around for better value options first.

Room Tip: lake view all the way.

Thank you for taking time to post your thoughts, I appreciate the feedback.
I am very pleased to see we have achieved our goals in a lot of areas, obviously a couple of little irks there that we can iron out.
We have just acquired a second hotel in Queenstown, The Spire and are working on staff cross training across both hotels so there has been a few new faces around, you've identified a things for us to work on and we're committed to getting our service perfect.
While not on the standard menu, porridge is available for house guests - indeed any other favourites or quirky requests we will always endeavour to deliver if possible, I encourage house guests to make us aware of anything you'd particularly like the kitchen to make, generally its done without fuss.
Do come again and don't hesitate to contact me directly if I can assist in any way.

Regards,
James Cavanagh

Thank-you Simon and the team at Eichardt's for a truly indulgent 3 night stay. We arrived to a warm personal greeting and tour of the hotel facilities and our room. An initial hiccup with our room allocation was professionally resolved and we were escorted to a beautiful room overlooking the Lake. The warmth of the fireplace, luxurious bedding and style of the room made us feel immediately relaxed. Sleep quality was excellent, room quiet and well appointed.

We appreciated the complimentary mini-bar items (excluding alcohol, which is at reasonable cost), handmade chocolates each evening, complimentary WiFi (but there were some issues with reliability in the bar area), fresh fruit platter and nuts daily. Mini bar items were also thoughtful - quality juices, mineral water, fine teas.

Bathroom is very nice as well, although we would recommend you have a larger bottle of body wash. Bath salts and bubbles were of high quality.

The room rates aren't cheap, so you do expect the inclusions and service this hotel provides. Don't stay here if you're on a tight budget, but do stay here if you value luxury, privacy and personalised service.

Staff recognised us by name throughout and provided attentive, personalised service. From the delicious tapas in the hotel Bar, to the extensive wine list including some lovely local wines - we were impressed with bar service. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly throughout, taking care of things like tour bookings, changing arrangements etc efficiently and accurately.

Our only suggestion is to add a few more choices to the breakfast menu. Perhaps a warming porridge with stewed fruits, an interesting omelette combination and a fruit salad would be good additions? That said, staff were very happy to whip something up for us on request.

If you prefer to relax out of your room but in an area separate to the downstairs bar then you can use a lounge room on the 1st floor. Complimentary whiskey's, sherry available in this room. Unfortunately the fire wasn't lit when we went there and there wasn't any coffee/tea facilities in the lounge room itself.

Location wise, this is a hard one to beat. Located right against the lake, integrated into the village of Queenstown and convenient to some great walking areas, shopping, cafés, restaurants etc.

Eichardt's doesn't have their own fitness room but they provide free passes to nearby Queenstown Gym (2 blocks away). This proves to be a better option as it gives a broader selection of cardio and strength equipment.

Queenstown is a truly beautiful town, and Eichardt's was a beautiful place to stay to enjoy everything this town and New Zealand has to offer. We recommend this hotel if your budget allows.

Room Tip: Lake view rooms are clearly best, but at a price premium.

Thank you for your review, I appreciate your taking the time to give such great feedback.
We value the Service component of the hotel experience and it is a big focus of the team, the answer is always yes!

We have a few new breakfast items on the way - including a porridge option now that its winter, you've beaten us to the punch by a week, although I am glad to hear that what we didn't have immediately was made on request. We will go to a lot of effort to accommodate guest requests when ever possible.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Eichardt's next time you visit Queenstown.

Kind regards,
James Cavanagh

We had a suite overlooking the lake which was a view you could not tire to waking up to each morning. A very cosy, almost cottage style hotel where you couldn't be made to feel more welcome. Everything was done without fuss and bookings for sightseeing or restaurants made in the time it took to walk from reception to your room. The rooms were laid out very comfortably, maybe the couch in front of the open fire could possibly have been a bit more comfortable. Breakfast menu is not extensive but good quality food is served in a small dining area come bar. Service was excellent. They do not serve dinner but we ate tapas one evening and again were very happy with what we were offered. Only a very short walk to the main shops and approx 20 minutes to the airport. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes

Room Tip: Suite with view over the lake

Thank you for your review, I appreciate your feedback.
It is rewarding to hear that the service was as we expect - the very best, and that the team made your stay memorable.
We're very proud of our little bar which is among the top dining spots in Queenstown and an absolute must for any foodies visiting the region, and the team do a great job of matching the right wine or cocktail to each guests palates - and to the food selections. The tapas menu is becoming Queenstown's premier food offering, with innovating and refreshing dishes, a real treat for visitors and locals alike with signature dishes that keep people coming back time and again, our legendary seafood chowder being most notable.

I look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to Queenstown - hopefully to get some skiing in this winter!

Sadly we didn't stay at the hotel (out of our price range) but visited the bar and was wonderful. Design was great, roaring fire - perfect for those chilly days walking around Queenstown, comfy sofas and prompt service. The bar had great spirits and wine lists and a wide selection of cocktails to suit all. I could have spent the afternoon here! Definitely recommend a visit.
