The Dairy is simply amazing. From the moment we walked in we felt like we'd come home, and we really didn't want to leave three days later!

Paul and Matt are outstanding hosts, who made us feel so special. They booked activities for us, and made sure we were picked up from the door. They recommended (excellent) places to eat, and booked us tables too.

The breakfast was delicious - I don't think I'll ever eat eggs benedict as good as the ones I had here. Best of all is afternoon tea by the fire in the lounge area. Coming in from a day adventuring to be greeted by the smell of fresh baking... that's a little slice of heaven right there. We loved relaxing with a book and a glass of red in the library too.

The room was comfortable and warm, with a brilliant view over to the Remarkables. What more could you ask for?

Can't wait to come back here, we really miss it already!

Arrived on 12th September after a 5 hour rainy drive from Dunedin, to be welcomed by Matt as we walked through the door with "Hello, you must be Tash & John". It was a damp old day so the real log fire in the lounge was very much appreciated. After checking in and being shown around this perfectly named "luxury" hotel, we were invited to enjoy our first (of 5) complimentary homemade afternoon teas. WOW, they are delicious. The view from our room (8) was stunning, overlooking The Remarkables Range. Matt is a trained chef and cooks beautifully presented and very tasty breakfasts each morning. Paul is an excellent host and together, they run this hotel extremely well, both having the time to chat about yours/their day and provide ideas and tips for trips/meals/further travels. We used the outdoor hot tub and watched the sun go down and the lights come on in Queenstown, which is a memory we will recall for a long, long time. These guys have been managing The Dairy since April 2011 and they truly deserve to be successful. As a privately owned and run hotel, their excellent customer service is genuine and we started missing them as soon as we drove out of Queenstown. We stayed for 5 nights and that wasn't long enough. Paul & Matt, thank you so much for making our too short-a-stay a fantastic experience (Paul, thanks for taking care of John with much needed honey & lemon to conquer his 'man flu'). We WILL be returning this beautiful town and we WILL be staying at The Dairy again - hopefully in the not too distant future. Tash & John xx

We booked a week stay in Dairy Private Luxury Hotel last month. The host is kind and had everything well-prepared beforehand. The room is comfortable with large beds and other stuffs. The food is very very delicious and hot meals are always ready when you need. My husband and I had a great time enjoying the countryside evening with hot tea and cakes in the palor. Great thanks to Paul and Matt for serving us so well and sweet!

We have stayed in quite a few luxury accommodations during our 5 weeks in NZ but this has been the best. From the warm and friendly hosts, very comfortable rooms to the cosy late afternoons by the blazing fire -absolutely perfect. We have not found better attention to detail anywhere. Matt's afternoon tea was superb, completely irrestible. Nothing was too much trouble and we thank you Paul and Matt very much for everything.

We stayed in this lovely boutique hotel about a week during our visit to south island in July. Rooms and amenities were great. I and my wife have never stayed in the hotel that puts so much attention to detail. My wife had a birthday during our stay and it was a really nice touch from Matt and Paul to have a special birthday cake for her in the morning. My wife sure was moved by it :) It felt like home. We will return to that home on our next trip to NZ

We decided we would like to take Matt home with us. From the minute we arrived, Matt and Paul were attentive and welcoming, and gave us space to enjoy the warm fire and cookies. Wonderful breakfast (they got up early so we could make our Milford Sound journey and send us with provisions!). Very nice library. Large room with beautiful mountain view. Would go back in a heartbeat. Close to town - an easy walk.

We spent four nights in this lovely hotel in late August. It was perfect. Extremely comfortable, with a boutique hotel feel. Breakfasts were marvelous. The decoration is exquisite and makes you feel you are in a real home rather than in a hotel. And ofcourse great hosts Matt and Paul..They were really kind, very helpful and pleasant. They made our stay certainly memorable! We could not have dreamed better..
