A magnificent view of the lake and the mountains but just a short walk to all the Queenstown action. Louise is a charming host. The New Zealand delicacy of whitebait fritters with the pre-dinner drinks was very generous. Queenstown house was a great find. 5 star accommodation with the intimate feeling of a boutique hotel.

If you really want to try true Kiwi hospitality and avoid the larger five star hotels this is the place. We had four nights at the Queenstown House with friends from the UK and it was an excellent choice. The view is simply outstanding, the proximity to town is perfect - close enough to walk and far enough to miss the late night revellers. A brilliant host in Louise who was not only full of local knowledge but also did all the organising for us and the accommodation is private and comfortable. This is a good one when so many others disappoint and it was very reasonable

We had a wonderful holiday in the South Island in January this year, the absolute highlight being Queenstown, and staying at Queenstown House hotel for four nights.
Louise and Sandra were so friendly, and extemely helpful and attentive. They were happy to book activities and restaurants on our behalf, and we loved the walk through Queenstown Botanical gardens every evening, heading of to dinner, after meeting other guests at the evening cocktail hour.
We cannot speak highly enough about our fabulous stay - our entire visit there was superb.

This boutique hotel was a great place to stay in Queenstown. It sits very high on a hilly street, not bad walking down but quite steep going up but offers a beautiful view of the town and lake. Louise the owner is a gem, very helpful and a wealth of information. Enjoyed evening wine and snacks with her and some of the guests in the main sitting room. Had a wonderful breakfast in the dining room overlooking the view. Our suitewith livining room, fireplace, kitchen and balcony would be a perfect place to spend an extended amount of time. Would love to return, thank you, Kathy

We received a warm welcome and great hospitality from both Louise and Deborah at the Queenstown House Hotel. The Eggs Benedict at breakfast were amazing, the early evening wine tasting was interesting and the rooms were very comfortable.

It was also a perfect base for our stay before and after doing the Milford Track tramp as we could leave our luggage and car at the hotel whilst we were on the tramp and then use the great laundry facilities when we got back!!

A real home away from home :-)

Wow!
This boutique hotel exceeded all our expectations.
Descretly located 200m from the action. With a good hill to keep you fit or a "$5 taxi ride"-recommended by our hostess.
Outstanding Views
Amazing service and atmosphere
Hosts that had great local knowledge
And great food (thank god for the hill)

Thank you Deb, Sandra, and Lou Lou

We'll be back!

I always stay here as it is such a great spot and it is about time I wrote a review. Queenstown House has an elevated position so gets the most amazing views not possible from on the flat. They are breathtaking. If I ever feel down in the dumps on arrival I know Louise will change all that. She is the ultimate hostess, knows all the local gossip and runs a great place. I love sinking into an divinely comfortable bed, having good lights so I can read in bed, getting up for a delicous breakfast and having a paper to read and then go back to my room to find the elves have been and tidied it all up. Even my shoes are arranged neatly. I am a walker so enjoy being able to leave the car and walk to and from the town in a few minutes.
Many thanks to Louise and her team.
