Spent 4 nights over Christmas period and would fully recommend. Friendly, helpful staff, valet parking and great location. Breakfast choice and quality good and great to gave launderomat on site with good opening hours (7am-9pm!) . We were lucky to have it right opposite us which was convenient and no disruption from other visitors at all. Lovely views and nice dining room, a good place to stay.

We fled to Crown Plaza after terrible experience at the Lofts Apartment in Queenstown couple blocks away. The hotel was so nice. One of our rooms has partial lake view, which is really true comparing to the Lofts apartment's misleading labeling for their room 401.

We were so tired and ended up ordering room service. Unlike many hotels, the food was very very good and very reasonably priced as in the restaurants.

extremely pleased that we stayed here. It made our trip more memorable.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour group.
The hotel is located almost on the waterfront. And ofcourse everything is within walking distance.
Internet is available for free in the business centre
Adequate Laundromat on premises - though its hours are limited.
Breakfast buffet is expensive, extensive, but not well serviced, especially after it has been visited by busloads of patrons.
Some rooms open out onto a small central courtyard - good for lounging with friends

Overall, a very good hotel. Got exactly what I booked--room with partial view of lake Wakatipo. Excellent location within 5 minutes or across the street from the waterfront area and good restaurants. Two queen beds in our room, very comfortable, with many pillows and plenty of sheets and blankets. The fitness center, while crammed into a room the size of a guest room, has elliptical crosstrainers, treadmills, and weights. Not bad for a good workout. There are self-laundry facilities in the hotel-$3 NZD for a washer including dispensed detergent.

The only aspect I did not like is the TV reception. It is not high-definition, and the picture is cropped on either side. It is a regular TV image zoomed in to fit the 40" widescreen panel mounted on the wall. So you lose information and don't get the whole picture of what is going on; furthermore, the channel lineup, 10 or so, is poor having local channels, one movie channel, and CNN Asia. The TV reception is subpar, and again, it is not HD.

The TV reception may not matter most as you might think that you will spend most of the time outdoors, but when you retire at night to relax and watch some TV, you will be disappointed.

The breakfast selection at the restaurant is very good with ample selection from eggs, bacon, sausage, juices, etc. Buffet or a la carte.

Overall a good hotel with friendly staff ready to help you. For the price paid, the TV reception was a big letdown. Would not stay at this hotel again because of that.

There is no 24-hr free Internet, but at least you get one free hour every 24 hours of each wired Internet and wireless Internet. This helps.

Room Tip: Choose a partial view of Lake Wakatipo, which will put you on a room with the lake to the left of th...

what a location ! we extended our stay in QT since we liked the hotel and the city so much - room on 7th floor though stunning views a bit inconvenient for us ( the staff could have done a better job at allocation ) but overall the concierge and the other staff make up for everything else - would highly recommend.

Hi abhishekdalmia11,

Thank you for your review, great to see you enjoyed your time with us. The team will appreciate your kind comments regarding the service so thank you again.

The 7th floor does offer great views as you have mentioned. Next time please don't hesitate to let us know if you would prefer a different floor, the Front Desk would have done their best to arrange an alternative room for you.

Crowne Plaza in Queenstown is a nice hotel, in a perfect location next to the water, right in town. Easy walking to anywhere, rooms were tidy and quite nice. Room size was large, bathroom clean and well appointed. Seemed like a hotel you would find in any big city. Couldn't seem to find too many charming little hotels in New Zealand. So, for accommodations, this would be a fine choice.

I recently was on a tour down under and was booked into the Crowne Plaza in Queenstown, NZ. The hotel has a great location, right on the waterfront. The service was outstanding. Food was quite good and breakfast buffet was complete with an omelet station chef who actually listened.
However, this is what prompted me to write this review. When I got to Auckland, I discovered that I could not find my metal credit card holder which had my spare cc in it plus medical cards. I called the hotel from Auckland and was told that nothing turned up. 10 days after I got home I received a message from Tauck Tours that the hotel had found it and they forwarded me the name and email for the manager. I contacted him and asked how much it would cost to ship it to me. He told me $18NZ and I forwarded him my cc number. He said it would take 2-3 weeks to receive. A week went by and I didn't hear from him. After contacting him again, he told me that he wasn't charging my card since it was only $18NZ! When has that ever happened?
I would highly recommend this hotel if just for that, but the rooms were good as was all the service.
Nice work, Crowne Plaza Queenstown.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the water.
