We stayed two nights at the St Moritz at the tail end of our honeymoon. Overall the experience was mixed - the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated and the hotel is very conveniently located near the heart of Queenstown. The restaurant also has a very pleasant view of the lake and the standard of breakfast was good. However, there were a few aspects of the service that fell below expectations. Firstly, despite including a note in our original booking, there was no acknowledgement whatsoever of our honeymoon (in contrast to other accommodation during our trip). Secondly, the valet parking is compulsory (and very expensive at $35/night). There was very little warning of this in advance, and it created a really poor first impression upon check-in. The valet system also seemed to be a bit disorganised, as we weren't properly notified each time the car was ready - the car was just parked in front of the lobby unattended, with the keys in it. There were a few other glitches during our stay (e.g. we had been offered buffet breakfast for $1 on our first morning, but not for the second?). As a result we would be pretty hesitant to stay here again.
