Nice hotel, a little outside the town and up a hill, but there is a frequent bus service down to the town, which pulls right up to hotel front door, cost us 10 NZ$ return each.We had a nice room overlooking the lakes, but there was no aircon.in room, luckily the windows opened and there was a breeze from the lake.Did not eat dinner in the hotel, there is a lot of choice in town, breakfast was the usual buffet and it was o.k.

Room Tip: get a room looking over Lake Wakatipu and the mountains

This hotel is ideally located a short distance from the 'hurley burley' of the centre of the town. The views across Lake Wakitapu towards the Remarkables Range of mountains is breathtaking, even without the winter snows.
The buiding is ageing but generally in very good condition. Some rooms are in obvious need of a refurb, but are still very comfortable and quiet.
The staff are very helpful in assisting the variety of guests who come into their care.
The dining areas are placed to give full advantage of the magnificent scenery.
The dinner menu was much more extensive than we have experienced in other Mercure Hotels we have used in NZ and Australia.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would readily recommend this hotel to others.

...this is the hotel for you! A lot of the rooms have a gorgeous view of the lake and, if your room doesn't, there is always the lounge and dining room. The staff is wonderful and very acommodating. The property is located high on a hill about a mile from the town center. It is a great walk, with sidewalks the entire way...but walking from town is pretty much all uphill. There is excellent, round trip bus service. Sometimes they have a special round trip fare...but it must be purchased at the hotel. The special fare is not available from town. We were with another couple and found it more economical to split the cost of the taxi from town rather than take the bus.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the lake

This is about the fourth time I have stayed and each time the staff make it a pleasure to be there. The setting is stunning and facilities are fantastic. Brilliant views from the rooms!
I will always look to book here again in the future before ever looking anywhere else!
Well worth a look to see if they have room, they are lively and busy but it brings a special vibrancy.

This hotel offers good value. We enjoyed the happy hour drinks and the dinner with a view. The view from our room over the Lake changed every hour and we kept taking photos. We noticed there are only 48 car parks so arrived before 4pm to make sure.

Hotel needs a bit of a do up. Location good with excellent views of lake. Good pool but overall the hotel is a bit of a rabits warren. Had meal at night which was not bad except for steak which was not cooked to medium rare as required and served with a plate full of chips. looked like an average bar meal. Complained to waitress but it apears cook was not interested.

Dear Wendy,
Thank you for your feedback. We are happy our enjoyed the location, views and facilities offered in our hotel on your break in Queenstown. I am sorry that your meal was not up to the usual high standard. We have discussed this with our Executive Chef who is re- assessing the presentation and chip portion size of the steak meal.
We do hope to welcome you back in the near future,
Kind regards,
Michelle Dent
