A little way from town, up a big hill!
Great large rooms with big beds, restaurant and bar had incredible views, good value buffet breakfast and the staff were lovely. Definately will return...... Need to have car though.
Thank you so much for your review outlining one of the best aspects in choosing our hotel - the superb views! Im so glad your expectations of the picture postcard Queenstown were met in our hotel.
We believe we do offer great value for money and employ a large mulitcultural team offering personal and friendly service.
Just a note, if you dont happen to have a car next time on your visit, we do have the big yellow Connectabus come right to our door every 35 minutes to take you to town and back for a nominal fare.
We do hope to see you return soon,
Our weeekend in Queenstown was a gift for my wife's birthday. Feel let down by Mercure.
1. While the staff were friendly and professional, the rooms leave much to be desired. We're very particular about standards of cleanliness in our own home and expect a hotel, expecially an Accor branded hotel, to reflect the same. Regretably, not so. The bath had unacceptable levels of soap scum present and the windows (with a wonderful view of Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables) had sills filthier than anything I've seen. With the level od dust and dirt present, I'm more surprised than anything that our allergies did not flare up.
2. Even though our booking was made well in advance, we were accomodated in Room 014 (right next door to the rather noisy elevator) which broke my sleep every so often.
3. Upon booking (2 rooms), I requested interleading rooms. This was not catered for and upon contacting Reception, i was advised that the hotel was full. Poor planning therefore leaves guests inconvenienced.
Rather disappointed Mercure. I've now suggested to friends that they cancel their booking in a month's time and find a hotel that will actually deliver what they promise.
