My partner and I spent a weekend here in a "Deluxe Room" and were quite disappointed.

Firstly, Qualmark should really assess the 4+ star rating - we normally stay at 4 - 5 star establishments and this hotel definitely is not.

The room had no air conditioning - just a heater and very damp and stuffy. There aren't any windows to open, just a french door opening to the swimming pool area and anyone could look inside if you leave it open. The door was dripping with condensation each morning. If you're looking for peace and quiet - forget it. Very noisy when children were swimming and the door to the balcony doesn't seal, so there's no shutting out the noise. And the swimming pool is open to 11pm apparently! Walls are thin, you hear housekeeping chatting all day. The bathroom doesn't have an extractor fan, just a useless vent. After a shower or bath it took some time for steam to clear. They have those toilets with the water in front of the bowl, so if you have to sit, the excrement falls on the back of the bowl and you need a toilet brush to clean, which isn't supplied. Why on earth would they have TWO toilet roll holders with to rolls of toilet paper next to the loo? There are several lights in the room varying from soft to extremely bright spotlights on your face in bed. There is only the switch at the door, so you can't switch them off individually or even from bed. There are a couple of positives though - the bed wasn't too bad, the room was clean and plenty of towels.

Breakfast was very average. We would have been very unhappy to pay the normal price of $31 (they had a "special").

The hotel is situated out of town, so not convenient for a walk to town. There are a limited numer of parking bays under the hotel, but if you arrive in the early evening, there won't be any spots left and you'll have to park in a muddy lot across the road. Several bays are used for building materials for renovations.

I cannot recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid courtyard rooms!

Good afternoon mala1972

Thank you for taking the time to offer your feed back on your stay with us.

We do supply positive air flow into the building and also guests rooms, during winter months the air is heated and in summer is cooled.

All rooms are serviced daily in the Hotel; we do leave spare toilet paper normally in either the cupboard in the vanity or behind the toilet on the toilet shelf. We have 24hr reception so if you require anything we are happy to assist. I have followed this up with Housekeeping.
With regards to the lights, we are collecting guest feed back, whilst we investigate how best to corrected this.

I apologies that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Thank you again for your feedback on your stay with us.

Kind regards

Wonderful getaway for a family of four. We had planned this for 6mths and were very happy with our choice of accomodation. Rooms are ample for space (mum, dad and 2 teenage girls). Heater works well. Friendly staff and lovely amenities. We would use this Hotel again when next in Queenstown. Thanks Heritage! P.S Recommend FergBurger, Gondola & road trip to Bluff for Oysters!!

Recently spent the weekend in Queenstown at the Heritage. Great facilities. Room was up to our expectations. Great bed and room able to be heated. Facilities brilliant, food brilliant . Enjoyed my blue steak. Bus service direct to town, however, for those who enjoy a short walk, it's not far, most picturesque and enjoyable. After an evening meal in town, the bus service was easy to find to get back to the hotel. Staff most helpful and friendly. Would most definately stay again.

We arrived late at night, room was nice and warm, very clean and comfortable. There was no problem with parking the car. We enjoyed our stay and will stay there again.
We booked our first night through wotif, and the next night I phoned them and booked. Because we had 2 bookings we were charged twice for internet which I felt was a bit off as we stayed in the same room. Wont make that mistake again.

We recently spent the weekend at the Heritage Hotel Queenstown, we had a fantastic stay. Our room was in the newly refurbished "Forest Wing" which they have done a great refurbishment on. Super comfortable bed, nice decor and very clean rooms. The rate included a full buffet breakfast which was delicious. So all in all a great stay and I would highly recommend The Heritage.

HUGE beds with great views. We were traveling with a 3 month old baby and it was perfect for us - they even provided a large cot for our baby upon request. Outstanding service - very friendly people from the front to the back door. Will definitely be staying here again.

The most comfortable bed I have ever had at a hotel. I asked for a room with two single beds and we were given a room with two king singles and a king bed. Fabulous. The hotel was quite and very warm. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
